Prior to today’s console and Kickstarter announcement for Cult County, the good folks over at Nintendo Life caught up with Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham to discuss the project. Watsham tackled topics pertaining to the 3DS version, taking to Kickstarter, Unity, and more.

Cult County heading to Wii U, no longer planned for 3DS

Update: Kickstarter is now live. You can donate here. The goal is set at $580,000.
Cult County, a Renegade Kid project first announced as a 3DS eShop exclusive, is now coming to Wii U, PlayStation platforms, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. This is indeed related to the studio’s Kickstarter set to go live in just a short while.
Nintendo Force reveals the news in its latest issue. “It’s an ambitious upgrade in scope and complexity, and one that will require extra capital to accomplish,” the magazine writes.
Cult County will launch in 2015 – assuming the Kickstarter goal is met.

Renegade Kid’s Kickstarter project will be on Wii U

Renegade Kid is set to launch a new Kickstarter project at 1 AM ET / 10 AM PT tomorrow. Details won’t be revealed until then, but we do have confirmation that the game on Wii U.
Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham tweeted a short while ago:
A sneak peek at the platforms supported in our Kickstarter campaign, which launches April 2 at 12pm CST. No joke! pic.twitter.com/oKrf7yIPyh

Watsham also confirmed that all of the platforms above will be supported under the minimum goal.

Mutant Mudds’ free 3DS update will be submitted within the next 2 weeks

Renegade Kid is still hard at work on the upcoming Mutant Mudds 3DS update. Studio co-founder Jools Watsham estimates that the patch will be submitted within the next two weeks.
Watsham wrote on Twitter earlier today:
In other news, we are making progress with the FREE deluxe update for Mutant Mudds on 3DS. Submission will happen in next 2 weeks (NA&EU).

When Mutant Mudds’ 3DS update is made available, the game will add content from the Deluxe version.

Renegade Kid launching Kickstarter for new console title on April 2

Renegade Kid will launch a Kickstarter next week for a brand new console game, the studio has announced.
Specifics beyond this have not been shared. We should learn more when the campaign launches on April 2.

Renegade Kid’s Max included as character skin in Hex Heroes

Prismatic Games has confirmed a cameo appearance for Renegade Kid’s Max in Hex Heroes. He’ll be available as a skin in the game, featuring a unique look and animations. Other cameo appearances will also be included in Hex Heroes.

Renegade Kid seems to have a sale kicking off shortly on the eShop. It’s looking like all of the studio’s games will be available (possibly 3DS only) for 30 percent off starting tomorrow.

Moon Chronicles should be out in April/May, block size

Moon Chronicles has been officially submitted to Nintendo. Assuming all goes well with the rest of the process, we should be seeing the game out in April or May.

First Moon Chronicles episode is 173MB, submission to Nintendo imminent

Renegade Kid’s Jools Watsham has revealed the file size for Moon Chronicles. The game’s first episode weighs in at 173MB, Watsham confirmed on Twitter.
He said:
