This week’s issue of Famitsu has shared a listing of the top 30 best-selling games in Japan for the month of November 2019. You can check out the full results below, including debut digital sales for Pokemon Sword/Shield, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and Mario & Sonic as well as initial sales for Romancing SaGa 3.

As we close out 2019, we have a look at the top five games with the most appearances on the 20 best-selling video games chart from NPD over the past decade.

A pair of Nintendo titles make the list with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Zelda: Breath of the Wild at 37 and 30 appearances respectively. Minecraft also has the second-most entries at 73.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 is selling pretty well in the UK – perhaps better than one would expect. In the previous week, sales were actually up 49 percent.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield have been top sellers on Switch during the holiday season. However, Luigi’s Mansion 3 has actually sold more copies than a number of other top titles, including New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Super Mario Maker 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. GamesIndustry also reports that Luigi’s Mansion 3 “has far exceeded previous games in the franchise”.

Pokemon GO not only had a good 2019, but is also one of the better-performing mobile games of the past decade. New information from mobile data and analytics firm App Annie has it in the top ten for highest-grossing releases of 2019 along with the last decade as a whole.
