Super Mario Maker

Update: Here’s a full playthrough of the Event Course:

Another new costume and Event Course have come to Super Mario Maker. Once you’ve completed the Twilight Princess HD level, you can unlock Wolf Link as an outfit. Using the Wolf Link amiibo also unlocks the costume.

Here’s an overview of the Event Course:

“While exploring the Twilight Realm in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, somehow Link and Midna’s souls have found their way into Super Mario Maker.

Now, to protect peace throughout all worlds, they must seal away a new menace – Bowser Jr., who has split himself in three!”

Did you know that you can lock Mario out of the castle in Super Mario Maker? With the new 1.40 update and key functionality, this is actually possible. If you use a locked door in the original Super Mario Bros. style, Mario won’t be able to enter! It’s a neat little Easter Egg included by Nintendo.

Update 2: Bumped to the top again. Added in an image showing all of the new costumes.

Update: Bumped to the top. Added three more costumes that has been discovered after the video.

Super Mario Maker added several new costumes with its update today. Some of these were actually added to the “Normal” and “Expert” modes in 100 Mario Challenge, while several more can be obtained in the new “Super Expert” difficulty.

It was previously revealed that today’s update would be adding new costumes like Tetra. We now have confirmation about a few other outfits, as well as some footage for three of the additions. Head past the break for the latest content.

Super Mario Maker’s “Mary O’s Lunch Break” Event Course, which comes with a new costume, can now be played. If you’d like to see the level in full, watch the video below.

GameXplain has posted a new video showing the new Super Mario Maker update in-depth. Below, you can get a look at Skewers, keys and locked doors, mandatory boss fights, pink coins, and more.

Following yesterday’s leak, the Mashiko / Mary O costume and Event Course are now available in Super Mario Maker. After completing the “Mary O.’s Lunch Break” level, the new outfit will be yours.

Here’s an overview of the Event Course:

“Mary O., the friendly guide from the Super Mario Maker manual, finally makes her in-game debut!

‘It’s my lunch break, so I’m heading out for a quick bite to eat. Out of the office, across the street, up some… vines?! Maybe this won’t be so quick after all…'”

And a video for Mashiko / Mary O:

The latest patch for Super Mario Maker is now live. It will update the game to version 1.40. The update requires 361MB of free space, and will add in Skewers, keys, pink coins, Super Expert Mode in 100-Mario Challenge upon clearing Expert mode, and ranking categories for world records and the number of first clears on courses on the Super Mario Maker Bookmark site.

Super Mario Maker should be receiving another new costume very soon. Some players managed to get their hands on Mashiko, but the outfit is no longer available. It seems that new Event Courses for Mashiko and Wolf Link went live very briefly several hours ago.

Mashiko, otherwise known as Mary O, is Super Mario Maker’s manual guide.

We’ll let you know when Mashiko and her new Event Course are officially made available.
