Furukawa briefly commented on the situation during a financial call today. He didn’t have much to say about a new system, which isn’t surprising. But he did say (as translated by Nintendo Everything): “The rumors online that appear to be public information are not accurate.”

During the event, players will have an opportunity to earn a theme based on the Super Mario RPG Switch remake. Simply play the online mode and earn points based on your placement in each match. After reaching 100 event points, the theme will be unlocked. It comes with background art, music, and Tetrimino designs inspired by Super Mario RPG.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder Puzzling Park Coin Locations

Since Puzzling Park is more difficult than the average stage in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, we’ve written up a guide on where to find all five flower tokens. Most of Super Mario Bros. Wonder’s stages are pretty easy, but then there are the Search Party stages, which take a surprisingly long time to complete in comparison. That’s because these stages sort of require the presence of four players: there are hidden blocks everywhere and most of them are rather difficult to find.

Super Mario Bros Ground theme main

In an interview with NHK, longtime Super Mario Bros. composer Koji Kondo discussed the original game’s music and the making of the Ground Theme.

Kondo spoke with the outlet about how his first go at the track was scrapped. That’s because when it came to the actual gameplay and not just more of a still image that he initially saw, “the rhythm of that song didn’t really match.” Kondo also mentioned his overall goal for the game, which was to “create enjoyable music never seen before using only three notes.”

A new month started up this past week. Now that we’re in November, we want to know what you’ve been playing.

Did you get your hands on the just-released WarioWare: Move It? Are you still playing through Super Mario Bros. Wonder? No matter the case, let us know in the comments below.

Retro Studios Adept The Blob Game

Thanks to Did You Know Gaming, we have insight into a couple of short-lived Retro Studios projects – specifically Adept and “The Blob Game”.

Adept was playable in a rough state, but was ultimately just a pitch that Nintendo turned out. It was running in the Metroid Prime 3 engine and was intended to show off mechanics. In late 2007 and into early 2008, Retro was working on Adept that took inspiration from Portal while evolving on the premise – primarily by introducing combat.
