Xenoblade Chronicles 2

While Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country was made available to Expansion Pass owners last week, it’s out today for everyone else. Watch a launch trailer below.

Nintendo Life recently had the chance to speak with some of the developers behind Xenoblade Chronicles 2. These include Monolith Soft executive producer Tetsuya Takahashi, producer Koh Kojima, and Nintendo director Genki Yokota.

We have some excerpts below, which confirms that there won’t be any additional content for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, talk about designing Blades and the ending (spoilers of course), and more. You can read the full discussion here.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country saw its initial debut on Switch yesterday. Expansion Pass owners can access the new content now, while everyone else can begin playing next week.

Over on Nintendo’s Japanese website, Monolith Soft’s Tetsuya Takahashi shared a lengthy message about Torna – The Golden Country’s creation and new features. He reveals that the team created a new engine to render the game, originally intended to squeeze in the expansion between chapters 7 and 8, and more.

Have you purchased the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass? If so, Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country is now available to download with the latest update.

Speaking of the update, all users can download version 2.0.0. The patch notes are as follows:

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country is less than a week away from its initial launch. Ahead of the release, Nintendo has opened an official website here.

The site will give you all sorts of information about Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. It contains details on the areas you’ll explore, characters, and more.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country launches for Switch next week, and there will be a few different ways to purchase it. If you bought the original Expansion Pass, it’ll be live for you next week following an update. A physical version at retail will be offered September 21. Nintendo also just added in an eShop listing today, indicating that you’ll be able to purchase Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country as an individual download.

The same eShop listing also offers up the official file size. Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country will take up 3.2GB of space. If you’re interested, it can be pre-loaded now.

The Xenoblade Chronicles Twitter account has introduced the latest new character appearing in Torna – The Golden Country. Zetta is the brother of Torna’s king and as such, he is the second most powerful person in Torna. He’s also Addam’s uncle, but he doesn’t seem to like his nephew all that much. Supposedly, he once tried to resonate with Mythra’s Core Crystal, but failed.
