Back when the first Yo-kai Watch was nearing its launch in Japan, Level-5 released a demo on the Japanese 3DS eShop. It now looks like there are similar plans for the west.

Yesterday, a rating popped up on the Australian classification site for a Yo-kai Watch demo. Nintendo hasn’t said anything about this yet, but I suppose we’ll be hearing something soon!

The latest Yo-kai Watch trailer comes from Nintendo’s Australian division. We’ve posted the new video below.

The first Yo-kai Watch game is heading to North America next month. But of course, Japan already received the sequel long ago, which is actually comprised of three different versions.

Level-5 is now thinking about how to approach Yo-kai Watch 2’s western release. Speaking with Nintendo World Report at the New York Comic-Con, chief operating officer Yukari Hayakawa said:

“One is called Ganzo, Honke, and Shinuchi so there’s actually three titles and we are still kind of, we haven’t made the decision on which one to release in the U.S., whether it’s all three or just one, whether it’s all physical or digital.”

Hayakawa also said that amiibo support for the Yo-kai Watch series is a possibility.

GameStop has a pre-order bonus lined up for Yo-Kai Watch. Reserve the game and you’ll receive a pin featuring Jibanyan. This offer should definitely be valid in-store, but it hasn’t been reflected on GameStop’s website listing just yet.

Yo-kai Watch is launching earlier than expected in Australia and New Zealand. In these two territories, the RPG is due out on December 5.

Yo-kai Watch is coming to North America on November 6. The European release is still scheduled for 2016.

Game developer Level-5 and advertising / PR company Dentsu have teamed up and created Level-5 abby Inc., which is described as a “multi-media entertainment company”. The company’s name was formed by taking the “a” from “all” or “anything” and the “bby” from “hobby”.

The company’s purpose is to bring Level-5’s various franchises to a worldwide audience in a variety of forms, such as games, toys, animation, comics and more. The company states that its three “tentpole” franchises are Yo-Kai Watch, Little Battlers eXperience and Snack World. The company is headed up by CEO Akihiro Hino, who is the founder and president of Level-5, and COO Yukari Hayakawa.

In the Japanese version of Yo-Kai Watch, a number of the Yokai names feature puns. That’s made things slightly difficult to localize. However, Level-5 (handling the localization instead of Nintendo) has still managed to come up with a ton of puns for the English release for the different characters. Take a look at Polygon’s video below for a few examples.

Extensive gameplay from the English version of Yo-kai Watch is now available. Take a look at the video below for off-screen footage with audio.

After enjoying tremendous success in Japan, Yo-Kai Watch will soon arrive in the West as well. The official website for the cross-media project, called Yo-Kai World, is now open. From there, you can access all kinds of information about the franchise’s various aspects (such as the games, which links to Nintendo’s website).

A new trailer for the English version of the anime has also been published. Check it out below:
