Rumors

Sonic x Shadow Generations release date

June 6: While we’re still waiting on the official announcement from SEGA, the release date for Sonic x Shadow Generations appears to be imminent. New leaks point to the game launching on October 25, 2024. On the record, it’s due out on Switch later in 2024.

Well-known leaker billbil-kun put out the claim on social media. That was followed up with another leak from MysteryLupin, who not only posted the boxart – see above – but also a new set of screenshots. The packaging image seems to reveal that copies include Gerald Robotnik’s journal covering Shadow’s creation and a Sonic Adventure legacy skin.

Visions of Mana Switch 2

Is Visions of Mana coming to Switch 2? That’s what the latest speculation would have you believing.

Well-known leaker Midori recently shared on social media that news about Visions of Mana is coming soon. Don’t expect to hear an announcement regarding the game on the next Nintendo system, but it’s claimed that this will be happening at some point.

LEGO Zelda rumor

Bricktastic claims to have new details about the first LEGO set based on The Legend of Zelda, which will be the previously-rumored Great Deku Tree.

According to the site, the product launches this September. Once again, you’ll apparently be able to choose between looks inspired by Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild – the latter features green leaves while the latter has pink leaves.

Breath of the Wild Port Leak

Midori, a leaker known for correctly predicting numerous tidbits of information regarding Atlus and SEGA games, has come forward with a new claim that Nintendo is working on a project with the codename U-King-O – which could possibly be a port of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s codename is U-King, which means it can be reasonably assumed that this project refers to a port for Nintendo’s next console. It’s also safe to assume that this port would come with improvements; a higher resolution and frame rate would be nearly guaranteed if this were the case.

Switch 2 rumored tech specs

Some fans believe that they’ve uncovered new tech specs for Switch 2, and have apparently done so in a bit of a bizarre way.

Believe it or not, the information seems to have originated from customs and shipping data. Fans have keep keeping an eye on shipments being sent between Nintendo, NVIDIA, and other parts manufacturers. March shipping information only just became viewable this week, and references to a number of new shipments with new codenames have been found that many believe are components for the next Nintendo console.

Donkey Kong cancelled game Vicarious Visions

Vicarious Visions, the studio now known as Blizzard Albany that previously developed projects such as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, and some Skylanders titles, was apparently working on a 3D Donkey Kong game at one point. Given the timing here, it should have ended up on Switch had it come to fruition.

DK Vine previously published a report about the situation this year. While some of the specific details have come into question, Did You Know Gaming today followed up with its own findings.

Yet another round of rumored Switch 2 details have come to light, this time from accessory manufacturer Mobapad who has made products for Nintendo’s current system.

Mobapad first posted the information on its Facebook page. That has since been added to its Bilibili page as well.

Spanish outlet Vandal published the latest report on Switch 2 today and claims to have a few more details about the device. The site’s information was apparently shared by accessory manufacturers.

Valdal first claims that the controllers will be attached magnetically. That’s in contrast to the current Switch which uses a rail system. As of now, it’s unclear if Joy-Con controllers will be compatible with the new system.

Sonic Heroes remake rumor

March 25: A report from Universo Nintendo claims that a remake of the GameCube title Sonic Heroes is on the way, and it will be released on the Switch’s successor.

Little information is known outside of that. The game is apparently being made with Unreal Engine, and could launch in 2025 – though that’s up in the air.

Persona 6 Switch 2 rumor

According to Persona leaker MbKKssTBhz5, Persona 6 will be appearing on Nintendo’s next console. No further details were provided other than it’s happening – apparently.

Atlus hasn’t announced the RPG but it’s only a matter of when, not if. The company has been various entries in the series since Persona 5’s original launch, and considering how long ago that was – 2016 originally and 2017 in the west – there’s no question that it’s deep in development.
