Alvion has updated their website with a notice that the studio is looking to hire new staff and that they’ll be working with new platforms next year. It seems that Alvion will be experimenting with the Wii U as well as the 3DS in 2012.

Alvion is perhaps best known for their work on Malicious, which launched for the PlayStation 3 in Japan last year. The company has only published one game for a Nintendo platform. In 2009, Alvion released Poupée Girl for DS.

On this week’s episode: Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and the Nintendo eShop.

If you want to play the second installment in the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 series, you’ll have to download it on a platform other than Wii. SEGA has confirmed that Episode 2 will not be released for WiiWare.

Brand Manager Ken Balough wrote on the company’s official forums:

“…Episode II unfortunately will not be coming to the Wii – for reasons most people have probably guessed, but that doesn’t mean the SEGA isn’t supporting Nintendo platforms, we have a very strong partnership and will continue to do so.”

The situation is most likely related to WiiWare’s file size limitation. The developers are using a new graphics engine (and a new physics engine), which may make it difficult to cram the game into 40 MB.
