Capcom has confirmed that Ace Attorney 5 is heading to the west. More specifically, it will be released in North America as well as Europe.

A representative told Kotaku:

“Capcom is planning to release Gyakuten Saiban 5 (Ace Attorney 5) in the West. We’ll have more news soon.”

No details were shared beyond this, but perhaps we’ll hear more during the Tokyo Game Show. In any case, it’s great to see a localization confirmation so soon after a new game announcement!

XSEED still feels that localizing Retro Game Challenge 2 would be essentially impossible for the company.

Accordin to XSEED’s Jimmy Soga:

“Unfortunately with the number that Retro Game Challenge did, it’s close to impossible to justify bringing the sequel over.”

There are issues that go deeper than just sales of the first game. While that is certainly a factor, XSEED says that the company could face problems with licensing since Namco Bandai owns the IP rights for the game while Fuji TV owns the rights for the TV series.

So even though it would be less of a risk to release Retro Game Challenge 2 on something like the eShop, this probably won’t be happening.

Soga noted:

“It’s true we really don’t have to worry about inventory if we bring it over to 3DS eShop. But it is a bit of a tricky title since the rights belong not only to Namco Bandai for the game, but also to Fuji TV for basing it off the television series.”

Nintendo Gamer may be gone and done with – at least when it comes to the actual magazine – but there still is a Nintendo publication running in the UK. As such, remaining Nintendo Gamer subscriptions will be transferred to the Official Nintendo Magazine.

A letter sent out to subscribers states:

“[Official Nintendo Magazine’s] art team is locked away working on a shiny redesign, and we’ve recruited the best writers in the business – including many Nintendo Gamer alumni – to ensure the words are up to scratch.”

A Limited Edition Kirby Medal has hit the North American website today. It’s a 1×1 medallion with gold-colored plating, and it comes in a special collectible packaging.

The reward won’t ship until November, but you should order now if you’re interested in the medal – only 1,000 units will be produced. You can place a “pre-order” for 600 coins.
