Is it time to start up the Wii U rumor mill once again? Perhaps, as someone has published some unconfirmed specs about the console.

Wii U Daily claims to have obtained some information from a developer who has been porting a PlayStation 3 title to Wii U.

The rumored specs are as follows:

– Quad Core, 3 GHz PowerPC-based 45nm CPU
– 768 MB of DRAM “embedded” with the CPU, and shared between CPU and GPU
– Unknown, 40nm ATI-based GPU

Supposedly Nintendo has been testing one console version that includes 768 MB of RAM and another with 1 GB of RAM. The site believes IBM has made the RAM which is embedded within the processor.

Keep in mind that the rumored specs above were from a Wii U kit handed to developers back in March. It’s possible that the console has seen an increase in power since then and may give it a larger edge over the Xbox 360.

Rock Band DLC Additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii™

Looks like the actors from the UK edition might be left in tact for the North American release.

Let’s add this in here for the sake of completeness, shall we?

I’ll just say that those of you who haven’t imported the game and live in North America should absolutely purchase this game. It’s one of my favorite titles of all time!

It’s man vs. machine in a new game coming to Nintendo’s Wii™ console in spring. Xenoblade Chronicles™ asks players to use the Monado blade to take on a seemingly endless series of invading Mechon robots in a sweeping role-playing adventure.

The main character is Shulk, a weapons researcher who must confront the Mechon by wielding the ancient Monado blade. It’s the only weapon that has any effect against the Mechon, and it also enables Shulk to see the future.

Along with Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH! for the eShop, Shin’en has another 3DS title in the works. The studio confirmed awhile back that they were developing a new Jett Rocket project for Nintendo’s portable.

While it’s still unclear as to how the game will play, Shin’en has confirmed that it won’t be a sequel to Jett Rocket for WiiWare. Fans can expect a “completely surprising” title according to Shin’en co-founder Manfred Linzner.

Linzner said (rough translation):

“For now, we can only say that we have a title in the works, plays in the Jett Rocket the main role. However, it is not a sequel to ‘Jett Rocket’ for WiiWare, but something that is independent and completely surprising.”

The news is now 100% official. Xenoblade Chronicles will be coming to North America in April 2012. It appears that the game will be sold exclusively at GameStop and on Nintendo’s online store.

You can pre-order the game here starting December 13 or here from GameStop right now.

Nintendo just posted to their Facebook page :

“It’s confirmed! Next year, Wii players throughout North America can wield the Monado blade and join the epic battle between the Homs and the Mechons in Xenoblade Chronicles. Like this post if you’re ready for an adventure on the surface of two frozen Titans!”

You can find a fact sheet after the break.
