Rocket League players on Switch can now earn Fan Rewards

Following the last major Rocket League update on Switch, players noticed an option in the menu to link their Nintendo Accounts to Twitch. The initial speculation was that the option was tied to Fan Rewards. Psyonix officially confirmed that was the case yesterday, and has shared details about the whole initiative.
Rocket League players on Switch can connect their system to the Fan Rewards website and be eligible for Fan Rewards by following these steps:

Steve Wiebe responds to Billy Mitchell’s Donkey Kong high score controversy

If there’s one person who has something to gain from Billy Mitchell’s high scores in Donkey Kong having been thrown out, it would be Steve Wiebe. As depicted in the 2007 documentary, The King of Kong, Wiebe had been attempting to overtake Mitchell’s score at the time.
So what does Wiebe make of the recent controversy surrounding Mitchell? Before saying that it’s been “surreal” being back in the news a decade later, he told Variety:

Monster Crown will be made for Switch

Studio Aurum took its upcoming project Monster Crown to Kickstarter in hopes of receiving funding. Just a few days in, the campaign smashed its $5,000 target as well as several stretch goals. The game is confirmed for Switch as a result.
Monster Crown is about collecting, breeding, and battling monsters. You’ll be doing all that while attempting to put an end to an underground plan in which the Philosopher Kings will be revived. Studio Aurum intends to support online battling and trading.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp hosting fortune cookie popularity poll

When the next Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp update drops, fortune cookies will be added. To celebrate, Nintendo is running a popularity poll on Twitter.
Fans can vote on the fortune cookie they like the most on Twitter, via the English and Japanese accounts. The one that wins the poll will be given out to everyone playing the game.
The poll closes at 10:59 PM on April 15. You’ll be able to receive your gift starting April 20.

Thimbleweed Park physical pre-orders surpass 10,000 units, Limited Run to continue with Switch pre-orders

Limited Run Games, a distributor of physical releases, is officially on board with Switch. Thimbleweed Park is the company’s first release, and pre-orders went live a couple of weeks ago.
In just a few days, reservations are confirmed to have already surpassed 10,000 units. Due to that success, Limited Run intends to continue with the open pre-order system on Switch.
Thimbleweed Park will still technically be a limited release. Limited Run says that once it’s manufactured, there will be no reprints.
Square Enix on why Dragon Quest XI was announced for Switch so early, leaving the 3DS version in Japan

We’ve known that Square Enix has had plans to bring Dragon Quest XI to Switch for a very long time. Even before the system had its name, back when it was known as NX, there was talk about putting the RPG on Nintendo’s newest platform. Yet even after a few years, we’ve yet to see a single piece of media for the Switch version.
So why make such an early announcement? In an interview with Game Informer, Dragon Quest XI producer Hokuto Okamoto spoke about Square Enix confirming Dragon Quest XI for Switch when it did.
