Dragon Quest creator on III HD-2D Remake design changes and censorship

September 30: Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii has weighed in on the character design changes and bits of censorship being made for Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.
For those that are unaware, the original RPG let players choose between a male or female warrior. It’s the female design that fans have been discussed, as Square Enix made changes to cover up the design more – that’s shown in the image above. The original design is on the left while the new version is on the right.

Devolver Digital praises Switch, excited for Switch 2

Devolver Digital COO Graeme Struthers has shared some praise for Switch as well as some excitement for Switch 2.
Struthers was speaking with Gamereactor during a preview event for the upcoming game Neva. Neva will be joining Devolver’s huge lineup of releases on Switch – right now there are over fifty games available from the publisher on Nintendo’s console.
Struthers said that Switch has been “much more indie-friendly”. You can read his full comments below.
Doom + Doom II update out now (version 1.0.3), patch notes

Bethesda started distribution of the first update for the recently-released version of Doom + Doom II on Switch, and version 1.0.3 is now available.
The update brings along various requested improvements and fixes. For instance, cheats can now be activated from the pause menu.

Son of a Gun, retro-inspired twin-stick shooter, out on Switch next week

Publisher Untold Tales, in partnership with developer Crank Goblin, today announced the upcoming release of Son of a Gun for Switch. Fans can pick it up on October 11, 2024.
Son of a Gun is a retro-inspired twin-stick shooter inspired by 80’s classics in both look and story. You’ll play as an interplanetary mercenary called in when firepower matters and something needs to be solved by force.

Garden Witch Life update out now (version 1.0.19), patch notes

A beefy patch just made its way to the Switch version of Garden Witch Life with version 1.0.19.
Lots of changes and fixes have been implemented here. Highlights include the removal of fatigue, adjusted sell prices for MagiBuy and the Community Box, and fixed map points and whisk issues.

Soul Stalker will launch on Switch this month, an eShop listing confirms. It’ll be ready to go on October 24, 2024.
If the name Soul Stalker sounds familiar, that’s because we reported on it when Premium Edition Games announced its upcoming slate of Switch physical releases. Now we know that the game will be launching digitally first in a matter of weeks.

The Case of the Golden Idol getting new Redux version

The team behind The Case of the Golden Idol has revealed a new Redux version that will be launching on Switch. It will be available on October 10, 2024.
If you already have the game, it will be automatically updated to the Redux edition. The original release will be removed from the eShop and replaced for new players.
Mario + Rabbids creative director Davide Soliani leaves Ubisoft

July 24: Davide Soliani, who is best known for his work on the Mario + Rabbids games, announced on social media that he’s left Ubisoft.
Soliani (pictured on the left above) was one of the key developers that worked on the series. He acted as creative director on both Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom glitch found, lets you play as Link

Glitches are always big within the Zelda community, and one of the more recent ones lets you play as Link in Echoes of Wisdom.
It’s true that when you first start up the game, you’ll get brief control of the character – as we’ve seen in past trailers. However, after that initial section, it’s all about Zelda. With this glitch, however, you can do a bit more as Link.
