Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 developer Sandfall isn’t ruling out a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. On the contrary, CEO Guillaume Broche seems intrigued by the possibility.

Broche was speaking about the studio’s hit RPG during a recent interview on mistermv. Although he darted around a bit without making a commitment, he did say that “it’s definitely something that could be interesting.” It seems that the game’s success is opening up new possibilities.

April 2: Nintendo Switch Online made a major announcement today with GameCube games now confirmed for the platform. It will be available alongside launch.

This is the first time that Nintendo will be offering these titles as part of its classics service. During the Virtual Console days, support stopped with the N64. GameCube games have only been sold as individual releases, sometimes as updated remasters.

Rise of the Golden Idol The Lemurian Phoenix DLC

May 1: We’ve got a heads up for The Rise of the Golden Idol as new DLC known as The Lemurian Phoenix is dropping in less than two weeks. Nintendo Switch owners can grab it on May 13, 2025.

Another Crab's Treasure Year of the Crab update, Nintendo Switch physical release

April 7: We’ve got a double dose of news for Another Crab’s Treasure – the game is announcing a “Year of the Crab” update today plus a Nintendo Switch physical release.

The update is initially dropping on April 21, but it’ll land on Nintendo’s console soon after. It features a New Game Plus mode, new upgrades and unlocks, new costumes for Kril, and a boss rush mode.

Geekerwan and Kurnal recently conducted forensic analysis of a Nintendo Switch 2 T239 chip which seems to indicate that the hardware was finalized in 2021.

As for how this information has surfaced, a few of the console’s motherboards appeared on Chinese online retail stores. Geekerwan and Kurnal were both able to buy them and begin testing even though we’re still a few weeks away from the official launch.


April 2: Support for third-party Nintendo Switch 2 announcements continue, and we now know that Borderlands 4 is on the way. The game will be available later in 2025.

Borderlands 4 is a looter shooter in which players can take on outrageous enemies and acquire killer loot on the dangerous new planet of Kairos. The game features an arsenal of weaponry, the ability to glide, dodge, fixed-point grapple, and more.

Today, Headbang Club and Pixelnest Studio announced the release date for CTHULOOT for Nintendo Switch. You won’t have to wait long to play it as the game is scheduled for May 15, 2025.

CTHULOOT is a co-op arcade game that supports up to four players. You’ll play as a looter looking for mythical relics around the world, but traps and other dangers  await in the shadows.

Synesthesia

Ratalaika Games has published its fair share of visual novels on Nintendo Switch, and Synesthesia is next up on the docket. It’s planned for release on May 16, 2025.

Synesthesia was made by Spire Games. In it, you’ll join a group of college students with strange cognitive powers.

Hogwarts Legacy Switch 1 to Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade

Heads up for Hogwarts Legacy players on Nintendo Switch 1 – there’s currently an upgrade available for the Switch 2 version.

Technically this is not the traditional “Upgrade Pack” that the upcoming console will be receiving for multiple games. However, the Nintendo Switch 2 version just received a listing on the Nintendo eShop today which appears to have set things in motion. It seems that if you’ve bought the game, you can pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 version for $10. Right now Hogwarts Legacy for Switch 1 is on sale for $17.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
