Update: The official Oddworld Inhabitants Twitter account just issued the following message on Twitter over concerns that the Wii U version has been cancelled:
New 'n' Tasty is not cancelled on Wii U. We are currently having challenges with the platform that we are striving to overcome.
— Oddworld Inhabitants (@OddworldInc) October 17, 2014
Regarding Wii U, while supporting the 8GB model is a consideration, it is neither a dealbreaker nor the only challenge.
— Oddworld Inhabitants (@OddworldInc) October 17, 2014
The Wii U version of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty seems to be facing a bit of trouble.
During the latest episode of the Fragments of Silicon podcast, Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning mentioned that the team is “having challenges without having a hard disk”. However, he quickly added: “we’re trying to overcome those challenges.”
Lanning went on to say that he’s “desperate to be on Nintendo” and feels that “Oddworld will resonate well” with the Nintendo audience.
Read on below for the full transcript of Lanning’s comments.

Bayonetta 2 character design highlighted in new PlatinumGames blog post
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 6 Comments
PlatinumGames has posted a new Bayonetta 2 blog post covering the game’s character design.
First, check out a few excerpts below:
After acquiring the Super Mirror 2, Bayonetta can become an Umbran Gekka, Policewoman, Schoolgirl… They’re what’d you’d call “unlockable costumes.”
The basic design process I went through for these costumes was to brainstorm with Hashimoto and think about what costumes the fans would like. Then, out of those, Kamiya, Hashimoto, and I each chose a costume of our liking.
For the first Bayonetta, Kamiya was the director, so he chose the P.E. Uniform.
For Bayonetta 2, Hashimoto was the director, and he chose the Umbran Gekka.
Kamiya admitted that he probably indulged himself a bit too much when he made his choices for the first Bayonetta, so he chose something with a bit more mass appeal for this game: the policewoman. Hashimoto chose the Umbran Gekka, and I chose the schoolgirl outfit.
The process taught us about each other’s individual preferences, which was fun.
And be sure to read the full thing here with lots of information (and extra clips).

Game Freak on the possibility of a Pokemon game with all regions
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 15 Comments
New entries in the Pokemon series tend to introduce brand new regions. Generation 1, for example, brought us Kanto. There has also been Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos.
Something that could be interesting is a Pokemon game the encompasses all of the major regions we’ve seen thus far. Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda appears to be open to the possibility, though the team would need to “could come up with a way to really make that interesting”.
Masuda told Kotaku:
If we could come up with a way to really make that interesting, then it’s something we’d implement – but for me, personally, as a theory, I think it would be more fun for us all to enjoy different locations and then share that experience together than all have the same experience in the same region.
