Bravely Default ships 300,000 copies, producer teases future developments
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy has been a smashing success for Square Enix. Since launch, the publisher shipped 300,000 copies throughout Japan.
Producer Tomoya Asano told 4Gamer:
“Yes, I’d like to report to everyone that Bravery Default has broken over 300,000 copies shipped. I think by the end of the month, the sales numbers will achieve 300,000.”
No one (well, aside from the folks at Square Enix) knows what lies in the future for Bravely Default, but the IP is far from done. Asano teased future developments while speaking with 4Gamer:
“The official [Bravely Default] Twitter account has been in a silent state lately, partly because the consumer camp has been all out of information. However, from this year to about next year, I’m thinking there are a lot of things that I want to prepare for everyone to look forward to, so please continue to follow the Twitter account. I want to share information with everyone as soon as developments start again, so thank you in advance.”

Given how Tomb Raider’s launch is on the horizon – it’s coming out on March 5 – it’s safe to say that it won’t be heading to Wii U. That means Straight Right’s secret Wii U port for Square Enix is a different game.
But why isn’t Tomb Raider coming to Wii U? Creative director Noah Hughes explained:

The 3DS Virtual Console release of Super C is far from a straight port of the original. Along with 2-player download play, Super C also contains a Spectator mode. This feature allows one person to play the game while another watches.
