New Nendoroids based on the Red and Blue trainers from Pokemon is slated for July. One for Red had been previously released, but this latest model is based on his inclusion in FireRed and LeafGreen and more closely matches the art of the original game.
Both Nendoroids will be sold in a special bundle for 7,500 yen. Each comes with two face parts and two feet parts. Blue has six different arm parts while Red has five. Blue beats out Red yet again. Mew is also included, and you can change around his parts as well. Other accessories like Pokeballs and a backpack are also in the package.
These Nendoroids are due out on July 9. Reservations open on July 9. Product will be limited, as they’ll only be available at Japanese Pokemon Centers and Amazon Japan.

Kimishima – young staff are key, wants devs to be known, My Nintendo importance

Cheesemeister3k has translated one more excerpt from the Q&A portion of Nintendo’s latest financial results briefing. When asked about his strategy as president, Tatsumi Kimishima said:
Kimishima: Yes, when I became President, I said that it was my role to continue the strategy established under the prior management. From this point, we need young people to come in as a new generation and give lots of new ideas. It’s important to create an organization in which they can thrive. To do so, we’ve established a system in which many people with potential can play active roles. It may be hard to see from outside the company, but our organization has changed greatly. We also want more game developers to become known, so we’ll be sending more out to be public-facing. As for strategy, our hardware/software game business is central, but we’re integrating smart device activities into our actual business, and will derive synergies between them. My Nintendo is an important part of that. We want to create connections with customers by having them become My Nintendo members. Also, although QOL wasn’t asked about we’re not at the stage for the sleep and fatigue [sensor] to become a product, so it won’t be released (as a product) by March. We do, however, think that we can do something in the area of QOL, so we will continue to consider expanding into this field.

Mother 3 localization speculation picks up steam
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in GBA, General Nintendo, Rumors | 122 Comments
Update: Emily is backing away from the speculation, stating: “Media jumping the gun over a tweet. All I was said was: Mother 3’s 10th anniversary is coming, it would be cool if Nintendo acknowledged it.” On the other hand, other folks are coming forward and claiming it could be happening.
What I had heard about Mother 3 ( rumour) was that it was in the final stages of localisation at Nintendo of Europe a little while back.

I was asked to keep quiet, and then Emily decided to let the cat out of the bag herself

Mother 3 is a title that Nintendo gamers have wanted localized for a very, very long time. Perhaps 2016 will finally be the year when we see it debut in the west.
Emily Rogers, who is known for sharing Nintendo rumors and occasional insight into the company, made some tweets recently that has fans talking. The first one is shown above. Some of Emily’s followers also picked up on this now-deleted tweet:
“One last thing before I vanish: Don’t be surprised if Nintendo celebrates a game’s 10th anniversary this year…Just some food for thought.”
We did see EarthBound Beginnings come to the Wii U eShop last year – a move that surprised everyone. It’s possible that Nintendo could opt for a similar move with Mother 3.
Kimishima says sleep device “hasn’t reached a level where it can be sold as a Nintendo product”
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 30 Comments
Late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced the company’s entry into the Quality of Life field in January 2014. A few months later, he said that a sleep device would be released within the 2015 fiscal year, but nothing ever materialized.
Tatsumi Kimishima, who took over for Iwata as Nintendo’s new president, provided another update on the device intended to monitor sleep and fatigue during a press conference this week. Interestingly, there is now noticeable doubt surrounding it, and it’s unclear if we’ll ever see it on the market.
Kimishima said:
“It hasn’t reached a level where it can be sold as a Nintendo product. If it could be released, we’d release it. If it’s not we need to consider further how to deal with it.”
Nintendo last hoped to have the device ready by this March. However, it now sounds like they’re unsure if this can be made into a product or not.

Nintendo of America outlines launch plans for first mobile app Miitomo and My Nintendo
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Mobile, News | 17 Comments
Following the news coming out of Nintendo’s financial results briefing yesterday, Nintendo of America has issued a press release confirming launch details for Miitomo (and a tiny bit on My Nintendo). Find the information below.
Spark One-of-a-Kind Conversations with Friends; App Launches in March Alongside My Nintendo Rewards Program
REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 3, 2016 – Nintendo’s first app made exclusively for smart devices, Miitomo, will launch in North America in March for both iOS and Android phones and tablets. Today, Nintendo outlined the steps that fans can take to be among the first to get in on the social fun.
Starting Feb. 17, people will be able to pre-register for Miitomo by signing up for the new Nintendo Account service using their existing email, social media accounts or current Nintendo Network IDs. People who pre-register will be among the first to be notified about the availability of Miitomo when it launches in March. Nintendo will offer a special Miitomo bonus to anyone who signs up for a Nintendo Account between Feb. 17 and launch. Miitomo is a social experience that uses Nintendo’s Mii characters, which first debuted on the Wii console, to engage friends in a lighthearted and welcoming environment. Users can spark fun conversations and learn more about each other by answering questions such as “What song has been stuck in your head lately?”, “Do you believe in aliens?”, or even “If you saw a nose hair sticking out of your friend’s nose, what would you do?” Users can also easily take and share photos featuring their Mii with the Miifoto feature. Nintendo’s new My Nintendo rewards program will launch alongside Miitomo in March, and will be able to connect with the app.
