61% of UK citizens believe that games cause an increase in aggression, old people are more likely to link the two

A poll taken by YouGov asked UK citizens if they believe that playing video games can cause real-life aggression to bubble up. Respondents were only able to answer “yes” or “no” to the poll, as no “sometimes” or “maybe” answer was provided. Here are the results:
– 61% of respondents said “Yes” when asked if games increase real-life aggression
– 57% said that games are a good way to let out frustration
– Old people/those who haven’t played games think worse of games than young people/those who have played games
Don’t read too far into this– it’s just one study.

Rumor: Next 3DS firmware not coming in October, new Wii U update coming in the near future
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Podcast Stories, Rumors, Wii U | 11 Comments
Nintendo has been working on the next firmware update for the 3DS. According to the generally-reliable Emily Rogers, the download was originally scheduled for October. The update, however, has apparently been pushed back to an unspecified timeframe.
The Wii U is also expected to be receiving a major update – first announced several months ago during a Nintendo Direct. Rogers teased on Twitter that the new firmware will arrive “sooner than you think.”
The tweet in full, which also contains an interesting tidbit regarding Ubisoft, reads:
3 things. 3DS firmware is no longer coming October. Wii U firmware update is sooner than you think. Wii U owners need to buy Ubisofts games

.@YoshiRider123 Regardless, Nintendo Network is still coming this year. Iwata said it's coming this year. Just won't be October.

Asked to elaborate on the Ubisoft note, Rogers tweeted:
I'm dead serious about the third thing too. Based on what I'm hearing, if you want Ubisoft to support Wii U, you better support their stuff.
