News

Nintendo has provided a firm release date for Metroid: Other M in North America and Japan, but out friends in Europe have been left waiting to know when they can play Samus’ next adventure. Well, if some information from a distributor is to be believed, the game will be hitting European territories on September 24. An official date probably isn’t too far away, as Nintendo tends to share worldwide launch details about their titles at E3.

Keeping this at the top for a few hours!

I was going to include this as part of an all inclusive and very important update, but since the main surprise is taking a bit longer than expected, I thought I’d split up the huge news into two smaller posts. We’ve added a few new features to the site as well as made some minor changes, which I hope you’ll like! Here’s a rundown:

– “Favicon” – You know those little icons that appear in bookmarks? Well, we finally have one. It isn’t fancy, but hopefully it’ll make the site stand out more! The image should appear in your bookmarks and possibly your URL bar depending on your browser.

– Archives change: The monthly archives were starting to build up on the sidebar, so we’ve changed them from monthly links to a drop-down list and moved it to the bottom of the page.

– Features page: We’ve changed the “3D Images” page to “Features” page. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much time to create any additional images. Also, in a sense, they’re outdated (thanks to the 3DS not needing glasses and all this talk about 3D gaming in general!). I’ll see what happens down the road in regards to future 3D pictures, but for now, I’m pleased with our features page. Just so you know, it’s updated automatically and sorted by author!

– You may not have noticed this since I never told you guys, but our “Polls” page has changed. You can see a full archive of every single poll that’s been up and you can continue to vote on past polls.

– One of the bigger additions we’re implemented is the ability to directly reply to what someone else on the site has said in the comments section. All you have to do is hit the “Reply” button underneath a person’s comment, enter some text, and you’ll be ready to go!

– We’re now using avatars based on images uploaded to Gravatar. Simply visit that website (or click here), complete a one minute registration form (if you haven’t already registered, that is), and upload an image. As long as you enter the email address you signed up with for Gravatar on Nintendo Everything, your avatar will appear automatically in the comments section. I believe a few of you already use the service, so no further set up is required to see your avatar. I should also mention that comments made in the past will have avatars attached to them as long as the email used is tied in to Gravatar!

Before ending this post, I’d like to point out our very awesome forum. Why is it awesome? Well, I’d argue we have the best group of Nintendo fans posting there! We’re a small community, though I blame myself for that since I’ve done a fairly poor job promoting it. I know that I’d love to see you there, and I’m sure the other forum members feel the same way. So check it out and join us in some fun, lighthearted Nintendo discussion!

If you need clarification about anything, feel free to leave a comment below or send us an email. Additional features will most likely be implemented in the future, though I hope you like what we have up to this point. I realize that most of today’s changes were long overdue, though I have a feeling that more significant updates will be made to the site in the future.

– The Blanks: If you touch them, Blob loses his colors
– New enemy: Inky with a spike gun, defeat it with a charge attack
– Execute charge attack by pressing B
– Lock on with Z
– Use paintbots as weapons
– Single-use shield power-up
– Graviton ball of energy: Suck in enemies like a vortex
– Regeneration power-up, supercharge power-up
– Over 100 underground levels
– More combat underground
– “Transform all” acts as a save point
– Blob can obtain an ability to crawl on walls/ceilings
– Not only for Wii/DS (PS3/360 versions in development)

2K Comes to E3 2010 with Its Biggest and Most Powerful Lineup Ever

Exciting shooters, intense third-person action, authentic sports games and family friendly fare show the versatility of 2K’s biggest E3 showing ever

New York, NY – June 9, 2010 – 2K announced today its star-studded E3 2010 lineup that includes premier high-quality games for gamers of all tastes and ages. The full scope of 2K’s experience will be on display* in the South Hall at Booth 2823, as the sequels to some of gaming’s biggest franchises will make an appearance alongside the debut of new and exciting additions to their portfolio, creating 2K’s biggest E3 showing ever.

“By delivering only the hot list-dominating games that we want to play, 2K will take on E3 2010 with its strongest lineup to date across all of its divisions,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “The benefit of our strategic approach to this year’s roster of delivering fewer, bigger titles – featuring games like Mafia® II, NBA® 2K11 and New Carnival Games® – is that we can focus on delivering the most engaging and entertaining experiences for today’s broadening gaming audience. From core to casual, 2K will have something for every gamer this holiday season.”
