The latest Japanese hardware sales from Famitsu are as follows:

Transformers Earthspark - Expedition

Today, publisher Outright Games and developer Tessera Studios announced Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition. Switch will be getting it later in 2023.

Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition is the first game inspired by the original animated series that debuted late last year. It’s an action packed, single player experience that has players taking control of Bumblebee who’s seeking to put an end to a threat from Dr. Meridian.

Dr. Fetus' Mean Meat Machine trailer

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 physical download

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will indeed be receiving a physical release – which isn’t surprising since Konami has pretty much always done that for the series – but collectors won’t be happy to hear that much of it requires a download.

Almost nothing appears to be included on the actual cartridge. It does contain 2.4GB of data, but it sounds like players will essentially need to download most of the actual content. The site mentions 24.1GB that’s needed, and then if you’re interested in the bonus videos, that’s another 30GB.

A new update has been released for Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, bringing the game up to version 1.5.0 on Switch. This update focuses primarily on fixing known issues within the game, but has also added a graphics settings option so that players can adjust the depth of field to their liking. Full details can be found below:

Pikmin 1 + 2 gameplay

New gameplay is available showing both Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 on Switch. Both titles were not only announced for the system today, but released as well.

Here’s an official overview from the eShop listing:

It’s that time again! A brand new Nintendo Direct means its time for Tom and Sam to record their live reactions to all the new announcements, updates, and reveals. There were plenty of surprises along the way.

Super Mario RPG graphics comparison

Super Mario RPG will be returning later this year with a remake fit for the game’s well-regarded reputation, and a new comparison video shows how much the graphics have been updated. GameXplain put together a video showing the Switch and SNES versions side by side.

Super Mario RPG seems to have new cutscenes, but that doesn’t mean the actual gameplay has been left by the wayside. There are plenty of improvements on that front as well, from completely redone character models to full environment overhauls. Super Mario RPG did come out on the SNES close to thirty years ago, so this sort of evolution is to be expected.

We have the official boxart for WarioWare: Move It, which we’ve attached above. Additionally, a new set of screenshots is available.

Below is an overview of the game:

Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru: Oracle Saitarou no Sainan

While it wasn’t in the English version of the presentation, today’s Japanese Nintendo Direct included the reveal of Good Feel’s new Switch game Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru: Oracle Saitarou no Sainan!!. The studio is known for the likes of Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Yoshi’s Woolly World, and Yoshi’s Crafted World.

The game has players controlling a tanuki boy named Bakeru, disguised as a human. He uses taiko (drumming) actions to defeat a festival army wreaking havoc throughout a fantasy version of Japan.
