Sony responds to concerns about Nintendo Switch 2 impacting PlayStation’s business

Following the recent Nintendo Switch 2 launch, Sony has responded to investor concerns that the system could have a negative impact on its PlayStation business.
The gaming industry is more collaborative than it used to be, but there’s still ultimately competition. Consumers only have a certain amount of money and time to spend on different platforms. And now here comes Nintendo Switch 2 – which seems to be off to a hot start and has significantly better technical specs than its predecessor.
Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Hideaki Nishino first addressed investor concerns about increased competition for PlayStation and third-party relationships given Nintendo Switch 2’s improved specs. Regarding that, he said:

GS2 Games, Funbox Media, and Feardemic today announced a special physical release for Nintendo Switch featuring Burnhouse Lane, No Son of Mine, and Dagon: Complete Edition. All three will be bundled together as part of the Psychological Horror Bundle this Halloween.

Bipedal Dog is bringing Bipedal Dog to Nintendo Switch later this month, the studio has announced. A release is planned for June 19, 2025.
Blast Rush originally came to mobile. For the new “LS” version, the arcade style shoot ’em up has been enhanced for consoles.

Bullet hell action game Parry Nightmare comes to Nintendo Switch this month

Parry Nightmare has just been announced for a Nintendo Switch release later this month. The game is to release on June 25 on the eShop.
Parry Nightmare is a bullet hell action game developed by Kakukaku Games and published by Phoenixx. The game originally released last year on Steam, and follows the protagonist trying to make her way through a nightmare.

June 6: Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree is heading to Nintendo Switch, Bandai Namco and Brownies shared today. The game launches on September 18, 2025.
Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree is a roguelite adventure title. You’ll take on the role of Towa and “lead the guardians of the sacred tree in forging strong relationships and powerful swords to fight Magatsu’s forces and determine the future of Shinju Village.”

A new video has emerged comparing Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch.
Yesterday, a special 10.0.0 update was released for the game. While there’s a ton included such as additional content, there are specific improvements for those playing on the new console. Mario Kart World online play and more down due to huge Google Cloud internet outage [update: back up]

Original: No, it’s not just you – online play for Mario Kart World is down, along with other Nintendo services and plenty of other things across the internet.
The culprit seems to be a massive outage with Google Cloud. Mario Kart World’s online play uses this, so online is currently broken. The game will try searching for players, but will eventually time out with a server communication issue and the error code 231-4608 given.

According to the latest information provided by Nintendo, Switch 2 is the fastest-selling Nintendo hardware in the United States. That’s based on the system’s first four days of availability. Nintendo has confirmed that detail specifically.
On top of that, we’re also hearing that Nintendo Switch 2 sales in all regions were approximately twice those of the Nintendo Switch 1 across both consoles’ first four days on the market.

DLC support for Rift of the NecroDancer continues, and the game has now revealed the new Hatsune Miku Music Pack. Those on Nintendo Switch can get their hands on it starting June 25.
