Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is returning on Switch next year, and a new graphics comparison video shows how it stacks up to the original.
The first thing you’ll notice is that Nintendo has updated some assets. Textures have been enhanced for the HD era. Geometry has increased as well, which is something you can notice with certain objects like the trees. It doesn’t end there though, as with animations, some are brand new while others were updated. Other adjustments are improvements relate to the lighting, 16:9 aspect ratio (instead of 4:3), and more.

The annual September 2023 Nintendo Direct is almost ready to go, and we’ve set up this post to round up the official live stream – as well as our own live blog updated throughout the presentation. As usual this post contains broadcasts for North America, Europe, and Japan. Expect the Direct to begin at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET / 3 PM in the UK / 4 PM in Europe.
As previously announced, today’s event will focus on games launching this winter. It will last for about 40 minutes.

First announced earlier this year, Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur now has a release date. Publisher PQube and developer Gambir Studio say it’ll be ready to go on October 5, 2023.
Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur, a roguelite action RPG, was first made known for Switch in February. PQube initially provide a general 2023 launch window.
