Don’t Starve is the latest game from Klei Entertainment, the same studio behind Mark of the Ninja. While the title is only available for the PC at present, it sounds like Klei has quite a bit of interest in bringing it to handhelds as well.

One fan recently asked Klei founder Jamie Cheng on Twitter about the possibility of releasing Don’t Starve on the Vita/3DS.

Cheng wrote in response:

It isn’t entirely clear if Cheng was specifically referring to the PlayStation Vita, 3DS, or both. In any case, we may be seeing Don’t Starve on a portable system in the future if Klei pursues its interest.

This likely has something to do with the overseas release of the game on the 3DS eShop. Japan received Crash ‘n the Boys on the 3DS eShop back in January, but it hasn’t arrived in any western store just yet.

The Starship Damrey won’t be hitting the European 3DS eShop this Thursday, as originally thought. Nintendo has now clarified that the first release from Level-5’s Guild02 collection will be out on May 16 instead. That’s the same day as Starship Damrey’s North American launch.
