Following a previous run on mobile, Cats the Commander for Nintendo Switch has been announced. The game is coming out next week on February 6, 2025.
Cats the Commander is a tower defense title with “super casual yet intense adorable” gameplay. The new Nintendo Switch version includes an exclusive story.

Though not yet officially confirmed, one heavily-rumored feature of the Nintendo Switch 2 involves its supposed ability to use the Joy-Con’s infrared sensor as a mouse. We’ll absolutely find out if this is true when the upcoming Nintendo Direct airs on April 2, but in the meantime, all we can do is speculate. And speculate we shall, because Switch 2’s rumored mouse support could be a game-changer for some of Nintendo’s biggest franchises. Today, we’re looking into games that would benefit most from this feature – both existing titles as well as potential new ones.

2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the Super Mario series – which is crazy, because it feels like only yesterday that we celebrated its 35th anniversary with Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. 35. This year, however, is different. Though it still hasn’t been announced at the time of writing, Nintendo has new hardware releasing this year, which makes speculation a bit complicated. Will the company release a new 3D Mario game and tie it to the anniversary? Will Nintendo just release more remakes on the existing Switch? Who knows, but today we’re looking at all of the Super Mario anniversary celebrations throughout the years and what we might expect later this year.

The latest Fire Emblem Heroes Feh Channel presentation is now live for February 2025. Nintendo and Intelligent Systems are dropping the latest details about the game.
First, the results are in for the Choose Your Legends: Round 9 event. In first place are Eikþyrnir and Sharena. Byleth and Baldr come in second. They will be appearing in the game this summer.

Star of Providence out on Nintendo Switch this month, new trailer

Star of Providence, the second game to be published by Bigmode following Animal Well last year, just earned its release date. The company is putting it out for Nintendo Switch on February 20, 2025.
A top-down action shooter from Team D-13, Star of Providence was confirmed for Nintendo Switch release in August 2023. This is actually the first time we’ve had any sort of launch window.

Square Enix considered 3D remake for Dragon Quest 3

According to Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii, Square Enix gave consideration to a Dragon Quest 3 remake in 3D.
Towards the end of last year, Square Enix ended up releasing a new version of the classic RPG in HD-2D. Horii said this was the best call as going the 3D route “significantly changes the feeling of the game”.

Inti Creates came out with the latest update for Card-en-Ciel this week, moving the title up to version 1.3.0.
MOD Database is now avaialble as a new feature. Players can also access new content with the latest Extra Dungeons and Parallel Cards.
