This means that in terms of online discourse, you’ll almost always see at least two of these games compared to each other. In the past, Sonic has starred in several high-quality racing games – Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was fairly popular back in its day, and some would even say it rivaled your typical Mario Kart title. Continuing that trend, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds absolutely stands its ground in the kart racer scene – but as you might expect, there are some compromises on the Nintendo Switch version.

Revealed today, Blood: Refreshed Supply is coming to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The title launches on December 4, 2025 for Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch 2 version follows in early 2026.

Blood: Refreshed Supply is the definitive remaster of the 1997 cult classic shooter. Originally made by Monolith Productions and released on MS-DOS PCs, there’ll now be technical enhancements for modern platforms, local split-screen and online co-op for up to eight players, a Vault with behind-the-scenes content from the development of Blood, and more. Players can access the original Blood campaign and the Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage add-ons while Blood: Refreshed Supply features two new mission scenarios: Marrow (available at launch) and Death Wish (releasing post-launch).

May 11: SEGA is bringing Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. to Nintendo Switch 2, the company just announced. A release window was not provided.

According to SEGA, “Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. takes the gameplay of Virtua Fighter 5 and raises it to new levels”. It features additional content, rollback netcode support, and more. Cross-play will be supported across all platforms.

We’ve seen a smattering of these over the past few months and it looks like things are continuing into 2026. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the latest Nintendo Switch 2 Edition following a recent Nintendo Direct reveal.

Nintendo Switch 2 Editions are a way to bring back games we saw during the Switch generation. Some emphasize technical upgrades while others focus more on new content.
