Switch 2

April 2: Support for third-party Nintendo Switch 2 announcements continue, and we now know that Borderlands 4 is on the way. The game will be available later in 2025.

Borderlands 4 is a looter shooter in which players can take on outrageous enemies and acquire killer loot on the dangerous new planet of Kairos. The game features an arsenal of weaponry, the ability to glide, dodge, fixed-point grapple, and more.

My Nintendo Switch 2 wristlet keychain

The first My Nintendo reward of the Switch 2 generation is here with a new wristlet keychain.

If you’re a big fan of the upcoming console, this item is for you. The keychain features the iconic Nintendo Switch 2 logo. “The lanyard features a red wristlet designed for maximum comfort and functionality, making it a stylish accessory for any fan,” Nintendo also states.

Nintendo Switch 2 quieter HD Rumble

One of the more overlooked pieces of information we’ve received about Nintendo Switch 2 relates to the HD Rumble functionality on the new Joy-Con 2, which will be quieter compared to the previous version controllers.

Information about this was quietly included on the official website since the system’s reveal earlier in the month. It’s actually tucked away in a note about Everybody 1-2 Switch. It turns out that there’ll be a slight compatibility issue with that title due to the quieter HD Rumble on the new Joy-Con with a specific mini-game.

A note on the page states:

Nintendo Switch update 20.0.0

A brand new version 20.0.0 update just started distribution for all Nintendo Switch owners. With various features added, this is the biggest upgrade for the system in years.

Virtual game cards, which were announced in a Nintendo Direct about a month ago, are now supported. Switch 2 support is also included with transfers to the console and GameShare for compatible titles. There are other elements to the update as well such as user-verification settings.

The full rundown is as follows:

Cyberpunk 2077

Everything you need to know can be found in the following overview:

March 15: According to a report from eXputer writer eXtas1s, Bandai Namco plans to bring Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero to Nintendo Switch 2.

In a new video put up on YouTube, eXtas1s brings up Bandai Namco’s strong relationship with Nintendo in which the two sides have collaborated on specific projects. While Elden Ring and Tekken 8 from the publisher is also rumored, eXtas1s seems to have heard that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero on Nintendo Switch 2 is something that’s specifically happening. Further claimed is that we should be getting it around the console’s launch.

Raidou Remastered collector's edition

With just a few months to go before the launch of Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army on Nintendo Switch, Limited Run Games announced on X that a collector’s edition of the game is on the way. Pre-orders will be open from May 5 through June 1.

The collector’s edition will include the base game, a 10″ x 7″ lithograph, a steelbook, a Raidou Kuzunoha statue, a special soundtrack, and more. You can check out an image of the edition above. Note that the Nintendo Switch 2 version includes a game-key card.

Nintendo Switch 2 Switch 1 dock compatibility

Although it probably won’t come as a surprise to many, Switch 1 won’t be compatible with the new dock Nintendo is making for Switch 2.

Nintendo posted that information this week. The company confirms that no model of the original Switch works. You cannot use a standard Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, or Switch OLED with the Switch 2 dock.

This week we have a simple question – have you pre-ordered Nintendo Switch 2?

Reservations began this week in the United States (and Canada). To say the least, it was an… interesting experience. Best Buy, Target, GameStop, and Walmart all seemed to experience their fair share of issues with each site hammered with traffic and other shenanigans taking place. Based on reports, the best experience may have actually been visiting a local GameStop and pre-ordering there.

Regardless of where you are in the world, are you locked and loaded for Nintendo Switch 2 with a pre-order? Have you reserved any games? Let us know in the comments.

Nintendo Switch 2 June launch explained

Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser has weighed in on the decision to launch Switch 2 in June.

Bowser said that the company isn’t locked into specific time frames to launch gaming products. For June though, it’s not a bad choice given that the summer is starting (with kids starting to finish school for the year). Since Nintendo Switch 2 is portable, you can take it anywhere – which works well for a vacation.
