Switch eShop

Nintendo’s maintenance schedule for the week of May 19, 2024 is now available.

Another session has been added on, which is taking place for Switch towards the start of the week. Elsewhere, even more downtime is planned towards the end of the month.

Here’s the full Nintendo maintenance schedule for the week of May 19, 2024:

Airhead release date

Four years after it was announced, Airhead now has a release date on Switch. An eShop listing shows that it’s launching on June 7, 2024.

Airhead was originally announced way back in March 2020. It was planned for the following year, but missed that target. The initial launch took place a few months ago, and is now just on the horizon for Switch.

Food Devils

Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, Food Devils is planned for release on not only Switch, but Switch 2 as well.

The strategy RPG roguelike, which is inspired by games such as Fire Emblem and Darkest Dungeon, reached its funding target in only 72 hours. The total is well over $50,000 and a console stretch goal was recently met. Studio Daimon tells us that the project is targeting Switch, but also that system’s successor.

A bunch of information about the game can be found in the following overview:

Animal Well

System: Switch
Release date: May 9, 2024
Developer: Billy Basso
Publisher: Big Mode

Writing a review for a game like Animal Well is difficult, because with each new piece of information you’re given it lessens the experience: it’s one less discovery that you can make for yourself, one less light-bulb moment of pure satisfaction you’ll get from correctly interpreting what the game is subtly guiding you towards doing without you even realizing it until after you try something and, miraculously, it works. My experience with the game was made up of these moments, one after another, in almost every room I entered. It’s a highly rewarding experience, and I don’t want to ruin any of it for those who are even remotely curious about picking this game up. But I’ll try and give you a brief overview and reason enough to give into that curiosity, because it might just be one of the best gaming choices that you make this year.
