Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum takes place after the events of GPK Mad Mike: Fury Load. This was a series of shorts written by Adam F. Goldberg (creator of the TV show The Goldbergs) set in a post-apocalyptic world. After saving the day, Mad Mike simply wants his favorite stale gum, but the factory run by Brainy Janie only makes fresh gum. That prompts an adventure in which Mad Mike will travel through time and space with his friends on a high-tech toilet to collect the ingredients to make it stale.
