Molochoir, Metroidvania survival horror game, coming to Switch

A little while back, Pupa Productions was able to secure funding for Molochoir. Fans helped bring the project to life by raising just over £25,000. Also, the funding goal included Switch as one of the target platforms.
Molochoir is officially described as a Metroidvania survival horror game. The premise is that players tale on the role of someone that’s one of the weakest species in the world. You will primarily “be recovering health with the proboscis and risking that health to cast a variety of dangerous self harming magic to take down the eldritch horrors that stand in your way.”
One way in which players can survive in Molochoir is with a melee attack – specifically thanks to a retractable knife whip that deals minor damage and recovers a small amount of health by exsanguinating blood from enemies. However, in order to use it, you have to be very close to an enemy. Additionally, it won’t work if the creature you face can’t bleed. The blood magic “Hemomancy” can also be utilized, but this costs a varying portion of health.

A Frog’s Tale, turn-based RPG inspired by Mario & Luigi and more, on track for Switch

A Kickstarter campaign previously opened for A Frog’s Tale, a turn-based RPG. It did quite well with the project exceeding its $50,000 target. In the end the amount actually stands at over $100,000, which was more than double the goal.
The crowdfunding campaign was held “to fund continued development of the playable demo version of A Frog’s Tale.” The team “set a reasonable goal amount with the intention of furthering development enough to land us the rest of the funding we need to complete the game from outside sources.” Thankfully, the goal was met, and a Switch version is an important target.

Wings of Bluestar out on Switch next month

We now have a release date for Wings of Bluestar, the story-driven shoot ’em up from publisher Eastasiasoft and developer Shinu Real Arts. According to an eShop listing, it will be dropping on January 18.
Wings of Bluestar was announced for Switch nearly a year ago, with Eastasiasoft confirming it for Nintendo’s console in February 2022. There was some sort of delay along the way as it was initially planned for Spring 2022.

Skunkape Games is developing Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered, the studio just revealed. It will be available sometime in 2023.
This follows re-releases of other entries in the series. A remastered version of Sam & Max: Save the World came to Switch at the end of 2020 followed by Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space the following year.
502’s Arcade lined up for Switch

502 Studios has announced that 502’s Arcade, an anthology of fast-paced arcade games, is in the works for Switch. Other than “coming soon”, we do not have a release window at this time.
502’s Arcade tasks players with reaching the top of the leaderboards (Daily, Weekly, and All time) in the different included titles. Gameplay types include a dungeon crawler set in a procedural generated temple where you have to seal spirits, a puzzle where you have to prepare the orders of a hectic potions shop, and more. Difficulty varies by game, though players can earn lots of achievements along the way.
