switch 3ds wii u eshops down outage christmas

It’s Christmas day, so you know what that means: an outage for the Switch, 3DS, and Wii U eShops with all of these digital stores currently down for some.

December 25 tends to be one of the busiest days of the year for the eShop. With so much gift giving taking place, new systems are booting up and connecting online for the first time. Others are merely browsing the eShop to purchase and redeem digital games.

Vivid Knight

Asobism is putting its roguelike adventure game Vivid Knight on Switch, according to an eShop listing. A release is scheduled for January 17, 2022.

Vivid Knight has players joining forces with knights who have been changed into jewels at the hand of a Black Witch. The game features a dungeon that changes with every playthrough. The ultimate goal is to defeat the Black Witch and free the knights from their jewels.

Keylocker

A little while back, Moonana opened a Kickstarter campaign for Keylocker, a cyberpunk turn-based action game. It turned out to be a huge success as the team smashed its funding goal with close to $60,000 raised. Additionally, a Switch version was secured after hitting a stretch goal.

Keylocker has players exploring the story of a BOBO, a singer and songwriter who “will serenade her rebellion against the vicious authorities by banding together with the Jukebot drummer, Rocket, to shatter the strings of fate and sing the melody of freedom.” Expect to “battle the authorities, unlock the secrets of the planet, play on your own bands’ concerts and hack into the network to bring an end to this corrupt system, for better or worse.” The project is said to take inspiration from the Mario & Luigi series and Chrono Trigger.

Superliminal update

A new update has gone live for the Switch version of Superliminal, the first-person puzzle game based on forced perspective and optical illusions from Pillow Castle. Two new elements have been added: developer commentary and Challenge Mode.
