Nintendo will hold a Splatoon 3: Splatfest World Premiere on Switch, the company has announced. The event is set to take place on August 27.

Splatfests are indeed back for Splatoon 3, and the upcoming download will let players experience Splatoon 3 for the first time. However, things work a bit differently. Deep Cut, the new hosts of the Splatsville news program, now consists of three members instead of two, so there will be three teams to choose for in Splatfests. For the theme in the demo, players can side with either rock, paper, or scissors.

Splatoon 3 Direct live stream

A new game-specific Nintendo Direct is kicking off not too long from now with the Splatoon 3 Direct, and we’ve set up a live stream post for the event. The presentation begins at 6 AM PT / 9 AM PT / 2 PM in the UK / 3 PM in Europe.

We’re in for a pretty lengthy presentation as we have confirmation that the event will be about 30 minutes long. Nintendo is likely to go over some old information, but there’ll surely be new details and reveals centered around the game as well. If anything particularly is notable, we’ll pass it along, and we should also have an official recap announcement shortly after the broadcast ends.

Thanks to GamesIndustry, we have new insight into the UK gaming market for July 2022.

Console sales across all platforms saw a 16 percent overall dip compared to last month, though we should note that July has four weeks in it, while June had five. Switch is still the most popular console of the year ahead of the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
