Wii U

Pokken Tournament will be undergoing some maintenance tonight, from the following times:

PST: June 14th from 5:50 PM to 7:30 PM
EST: June 14th from 8:50 PM to 10:30 PM
UK: June 15th from 1:50 AM to 3:30 AM
Europe: June 15th from 2:50 AM to 4:30 AM
Japan: June 15th from 9:50 AM to 11:30 AM

It’s highly possible that this maintenance will either patch the game to the previously mentioned Version 1.3, or that it will at least be in preparation.

Activision has shared some pure b-roll gameplay of Crash Bandicoot in Skylanders Imaginators. Check it out below.

As for the backstory of Crash in Skylanders Imaginators, here’s the lowdown:

In Skylanders Imaginators, a wormhole has opened in Skylands and the great Aku Aku appears! He comes to announce the once in two decades Synchronization Celebration. It is the time when all of the worlds align perfectly. They are having a huge celebration event in the Wumpa Islands and want to invite the Skylanders. But with Kaos on a quest to take over Skylands using his army of Doomlanders, the Skylanders must focus on stopping his evil plans. Never one to shy away from danger, the legendary marsupial Crash Bandicoot travels through the wormhole to join the Skylanders in the ultimate battle against Kaos!

Lastly, here’s a look at the actual Crash Bandicoot toy:

During Sony’s E3 2016 media briefing tonight, it was announced that Crash Bandicoot will be joining Skylanders Imaginators. But as it turns out, the character isn’t exclusive to PlayStation.

If you obtain the figure, you’ll be able to play as Crash in the Wii U version of the game. Right now there are only plans to offer it in the PlayStation 4 Starter Pack version, but you’ll probably be seeing the figure pop up on eBay. Activision will likely give Crash a standalone release at some point in the future as well.

13AM Games formally announced today that Runbow is coming to 3DS – more specifically, New 3DS. While it may seem like a tough task bringing the frantic action from the television to the small screen, adjustments were made to ensure that nothing would be lost in the transition.

13AM Games’ Alex Rushdy told Nintendo Life:

While the game is still in development and we still want to test a few more options out with the visuals, we already have completely redesigned all of our user interface and menu navigation. This not only makes it clearer to see on the small screen, but it also allows you to navigate menus with the touch screen if you wish!

We’ve also de-cluttered a lot of the HUD from the top screen and moved it to the bottom screen during play, giving players more space to see their character and environments.

Luckily Runbow’s art style is so high contrast and uses strong defined shapes, so a lot of the levels actually read just fine on the small screen!

Another announcement made today is the upcoming inclusion of Shantae in the game. Regarding the collaboration with WayForward, Rushdy said:

To be honest, she almost made it into the previous DLC pack but we just had some timing issues we had to work through. We’ve been working with Matt Bozon for a while to get her in so we’re really happy to see her in the game. She was the most highly requested character, and in a game featuring a huge cast of Nintendo indies, she feels right at home!

As for future characters, I think Shantae will be a nice send off for Runbow and Runbow Pocket. That will bring our (DLC included) character count to 23, which is pretty big! And that’s not including all the costumes and colors for Hue and Val!

Maybe we’ll see more characters show up in a future Runbow title. For now, I think Shantae is the perfect final addition.

Three announcements pertaining to Runbow were just announced during a Nindies segment on YouTube’s E3 stream.

First up, Runbow is officially heading to 3DS – but only on New 3DS. It’ll be getting a retail version later this year along with Wii U.

Shantae will also be added to Runbow as the latest indie collaboration character. She’ll be made available at no extra cost.

Here’s a trailer for Runbow on New 3DS, which carries the “Pocket Deluxe” name:

4 Corner Games has (sort of) revealed their upcoming Wii U and other platform game, Monochrono. The 2017 game will be a twin-stick shooter, where the player can manipulate time to take out the hundreds of enemies they face. The E3 trailer, which you can watch below, doesn’t actually show too much about the game, save for the screenshot seen above. It does, however, give a few teases about the game’s content.

4 Corner Games provides more details about the game in the video’s description.

Monochrono is a twin-stick shooter broken into ten second chunks, with hundreds of independently intelligent enemies on screen and a clear mission. Players can, at any point, hold down a button to slow down time in the world by a factor of three, providing the essential hook of the game: players can strategize, position themselves appropriately, and release the button to hit their enemies. Because the player them self is not slowed down by the mechanic, it provides an essential layer of strategy that the game is built around.
When players play Monochrono upon its 2017 release, they will find themselves presented with many options and gameplay modes, including a fully fleshed out story campaign, an endless survival mode, a challenge mode with a stricter mission structure that sees players attempting to clear a challenge while completing three distinctly designed challenges, a local multiplayer mode, and many more unannounced features, modes, and unlockables.
The announcement of the title is just the beginning. Fans can stay tuned to 4cornergames.com, as well as follow @4CornerGames and @Monochrono on Twitter to stay in touch about the game’s development, including frequent developer blogs, screenshots, updates, and more. Direct gameplay footage as well as more feature announcements will be coming within the upcoming weeks, and those interested in the title will not want to miss it!
