Wii U

In the latest issue of MCV, the publication features an interview with Nintendo UK marketing manager Chandra Nair.

Nair first talked about the Wii U by noting how it’s “a fantastic proposition for both families and gamers”. He also pointed out the system’s “compelling line-up of games” and growing list of “must-have titles”.

Nair said:

“Mario Kart 8 continues to be popular week-in, week-out, even after all this time. And Splatoon is still a relatively new title and something that kids have been pestering their parents for, so we anticipate that bringing these two fantastic games together in one value bundle should be a popular move.”

Next week, Nintendo will be pushing out a new update for Splatoon: version 2.2.0. A number of adjustments are planned, several of which pertain to weapons.

There are a few videos up on Nintendo’s Japanese YouTube page showing how weapons will be changed with the upcoming patch. We have them all below.

More franchises coming to LEGO Dimensions may have been unearthed via website pages. By modifying the URL of product pages on LEGO.com with certain initials, fans have been finding product numbers for unannounced sets.

A few initials have been spotted thus far. These include HP (likely Harry Potter), AT (possibly A-Team), MrT (Mr. T), and KR (perhaps Knight Rider). Other initials are MI (perhaps Mission Impossible or Monkey Island), FB (could be the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts) and ET (ET).

Super Mario-kun, a manga series from CoroCoro Comic, has been seeing publication since 1991. It’s now been revealed that Super Mario Maker will be adding a costume based on the series.

In Japan, Super Mario-kun author Yukio Sawada will be coming out with a Super Mario Maker course on November 6. It’s unclear when exactly the costume is joining the game.

Super Mario-Kun is the third new costume coming to Super Mario Maker. Last month, we heard about plans to add in Famitsu mascot Nekki. It was also announced a couple of weeks ago that GameCenter CX’s Shinya Arino will be receiving his own costume.

To be perfectly honest, I’ve never fully played through a Yoshi game. I’ve always wanted to, but I just never really got around to it. Sure, the cutesy visual style of the Yoshi titles should appeal to someone like myself, but because of the seemingly simplistic gameplay, the series was never quite at the top of my list. With Yoshi’s Woolly World, however, Nintendo brought the cuteness the series is known for to a whole new level, finally pulling me in enough to try one of these games out to the fullest. Having played through what most of Yoshi’s Woolly World has to offer, I can now say that calling this game adorable is an understatement.
