Amazon France has posted the European boxart for Mario Kart 8, shared above. It looks to be the same as its Japanese counterpart. As a tiny word of caution, Amazon says the boxart is a placeholder, but it seems pretty darn near final to me!

In these photos provided by Nintendo of America, Rico Rodriguez of Modern Family enjoys playing Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Wii U at the Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica, Calif., on Feb. 6, 2014, to celebrate the Feb. 21 launch of the latest installment of the beloved Donkey Kong franchise. In the new game, Donkey Kong and his friends take on a horde of icy invaders who are freezing their tropical island home. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Wii U features beautiful high-definition graphics as well as off-screen play using the Wii U GamePad.
New Ubisoft product schedule lists Wii U version of Watch Dogs

Ubisoft still won’t give a straight answer about the Wii U version of Watch Dogs. But according to a recently-released product schedule sent out today, the game will indeed be heading to Nintendo’s console as originally planned.
Watch Dogs for Wii U is listed in addition to the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC releases. All versions are scheduled for launch in “spring 2014”.

Wii U and 3DS maintenance taking place on Monday

Wii U and 3DS will be experiencing extended maintenance this coming Monday (Sunday if you’re on the west coast).
Various online aspects will be affected between 12 PM ET and 2 PM ET (9 PM PT and 11 PM PT). These include online play, rankings, and more.
Here’s the full rundown of when maintenance will be taking place:
a) Europe : 6AM to 8AM
b) UK : 5AM to 7AM
c) USA (East Coast) : 12AM to 2PM
d) USA (West Coast) : 9PM to 11PM (Sunday)
e) Japan : 2PM to 4PM

Sonic Lost World ships 640,000 copies

Since launch, SEGA has shipped around 640,000 copies of Sonic Lost World. That’s combined sales of both versions – Wii U and 3DS.
In its latest financial report, SEGA said “sales were low due to the harsh market environment.”
SEGA just announced its next game in the Sonic franchise, Sonic Boom, for Wii U and 3DS. A release date for the title hasn’t been confirmed at this time.

Disney Interactive profits jump by 600 percent amid Disney Infinity success

We’ve got some financial news for you today, this time from the Disney corner of the market: Disney Interactive’s Disney Infinity game– the Skylanders-inspired toy-based adventure sandbox– is raking in a ton of money, taking company profits from about $9 million at this time last year to $55 million in the last three months of 2013. Here are the full details:
– Disney games division brought in $403 million in revenue
– 38% increase in sales year-over-year
– Disney Infinity is the primary driver of this
– Profits are up by $46 million over this time last year
– $9 million in profit in FY3/2013 vs. $55 million in profit in FY3/2014.
