Imperfections don’t stop Pwnee Studios’ first title from being mesmerizing, addicting, and unmistakably unique.

System: Nintendo Wii U
Release Date: August 1st, 2013
Developer: Pwnee Studios
Publisher: Ubisoft

Author: Austin

It’s not often that a developer’s very first game manages to be both picked up by a big-name publisher and given some fairly significant attention prior to launching, but in the case of Pwnee Studios’ “Cloudberry Kingdom”, that indeed happened. Citing the plump plumber himself as inspiration, Cloudberry attempts to bring players along for a 2D platforming journey comparable to the best of them, and amid some lofty aspirations and interesting gameplay decisions, it’s clear that Pwnee Studios– although perhaps not masters just yet– knows how to put together a solid experience, and one worthy of your time.

Red Rocket was said to be a possibility for Wii U a few months ago. Just recently, the game was officially confirmed for Nintendo’s console.

Castle Pixel posted a backer update on Kickstarter announcing the news, and also mentioned that the team is now an official Wii U developer:

“Lots of exciting new developments since the last time we posted! In Castle Pixel news, we are now officially licensed Wii U developers, so Rex will be coming to a Nintendo Wii U sometime after the official PC game release.”

Nintendo hasn’t announced any pre-order bonuses for Pokemon X/Y, but GameStop may be giving out its own special item. There is at least one report of the retailer handing out a poster, measuring in at over two feet wide.

So now the question is: are all (or many, at least) GameStop locations handing out the bonus? Or was this just a special occurrence?

With enough donations on Kickstarter, Crypt Run could come to Wii U. The “arcade-style medieval fantasy hack ‘n slash” game will make its way to the console if funds reach $20,000.

You can find the official Kickstarter page here. The game itself has been funded, but just six days remain to make a Wii U version possible.
