Plants vs. Zombies 2 is coming in July, according to a new teaser trailer released today. No details or platforms have been confirmed, but we did see the original on both DS and DSiWare. You’d have to think that this will be coming to one of Nintendo’s platforms (retail or digital) sometime in the future.

There’s no denying that Precursor Games is seeking astronomical funding in order to make Shadow of the Eternals. Ultimately, there is no guarantee that the studio will be able to reach its $1.5 million goal or deliver on all of its promises.

So what happens to those who pledge? If the goal isn’t reached, will people receive a refund?

Fortunately, the answer is yes – more or less. Precursor updated its crowdfunding FAQ following concerns that funds would not return to their original owners, assuming that the company “cannot raise enough” to make Shadow of the Eternals.

It now reads:

“Our financial goal is a flexible one. All contributions will go directly towards the development of this game and making it a reality. We are committed to making this game, however, if it becomes apparent that we cannot raise enough to develop this project then we will refund all pledges.”

I imagine this will make folks a bit more relaxed about the situation!

This month’s digital rewards on Club Nintendo have gone live. Members can choose from Super Mario RPG (Wii, 200 coins), Maboshi’s Arcade (Wii, 150 coins), 3D Classics: Excitebike (3DS, 150 coins), and Art Style: Acquia (3DS, 100 coins). These items last through June 2.

Precursor Games has officially announced Shadow of the Eternals, which was first teased (and partially leaked) late last week.

Shadow of the Eternals is an episodic action/adventure game from the creators of Eternal Darkness. Over 2,500 years of human history is sprinkled throughout the experience, according to Precursor. Precursor’s announcement also states that “Players will question their own perception of reality as they progress through this mind-altering psychological horror.”

A new report from the Japan Times claims that Nintendo is now offering developers “professional-use conversion software” that allows smartphone and tablet games to be more easily made for Wii U. Nintendo’s ultimate goal is to increase hardware sales and offer a greater array of titles.

Given Nintendo’s new approach to smaller developers, this would hardly be surprising. The company just recently began supporting Unity on Wii U and launched the “Nintendo Web Framework”, enabling application development on the Wii U through HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
