Nintendo has prepared a new firmware update for the 3DS. Either the company’s servers or extremely slow or the file size is large – it’s taking a heck of a long time to download.
At the moment, it’s unknown what exactly the upgrade does. If we receive any details, we’ll have them right here.
Any in case you’re wondering: no firmware update for the Wii U at present.
Wii U console sales may be slumping a bit, but Ubisoft – one of the system’s biggest supporters – doesn’t seem to be worried about the performance of its own software. Relative to the Wii U’s install base, Ubisoft France head Xavier Poix said that the company is not disappointed.
The next big Wii U game from Ubisoft will be Rayman Legends, which is due out in September. It may not be an exclusive any longer, but Poix and Ubisoft as a whole “expect Rayman to be a huge system seller on the console.”
“We don’t have any disappointments compared to the installed base. We are just hoping that Nintendo’s results for Wii U will be a bit bigger, like Iwata-san said. Selling a new way of playing can take some time, and we know the power of the brands from Nintendo and we know from the fans that the majority of what will be the system sellers are not yet available. And on our side, Rayman will be one of them for sure. We really expect Rayman to be a huge system seller on the console.”
A small Wii U announcement slipped under the radar earlier this month. In its latest financial results, Majesco Entertainment confirmed that Young Justice: Legacy will be heading to the console. It’ll joins the previously revealed PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. A 3DS edition is on the way, too, according to the Little Orbit’s Facebook page.
Young Justice: Legacy was originally announced for Wii and DS with a release planned for September. Little Orbit now says that the title is officially set for the Xbox 360, PS3, 3DS, Wii U, and PC. Legacy has been pushed back to an unspecified date, but the studio claims that the delay is not at all related to theĀ cancellationĀ of the animated series.
The change in the street date has nothing to do with the current status of the show, this decision was made by Little Orbit. We realize this sounds like a long way off, and we would like to apologize for the long wait. We take the game very seriously, and the decision to push the title back was difficult.
We didn’t know it when we named the title, but as the show airs its final episodes, “Young Justice: Legacy” has taken on an entirely new meaning for the fans.
Many of fans have also asked about the hardware platforms, which have shifted around a little. At launch the game will be available on Microsoft X360, Sony PS3, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii-U, and PC on Steam.
Little Orbit has also given a look at Young Justice: Legacy’s box shot. Take a look at the art below:
An interesting stat from Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s debut sales in the UK: 45% of sales were generated from the Wii U version while 55% were collected from the 3DS release. Combined, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate reached the 7th spot on the latest UK charts. Not bad at all, given that some view the series as niche and more Japanese-centric.
