Some tracks came out better than others… you have to appreciate the effort in any case!

Nintendo of Europe has opened a new online European store just in time for the 3DS XL’s launch.

Only three items are available at present. Consumers can purchase a 16 GB SD memory card for £34.99, a Nintendo 3DS XL AC Adapter (EU) for £8.99, and a Nintendo 3DS XL AC Adapter (UK) also for £8.99.

More items will be added in the future, so be sure to keep track of the online store in the future.

Between Bayonetta and Viewtiful Joe, Hideki Kamiya would prefer working on the latter. Kamiya told Famitsu this week that he’d like to make a sequel if given the opportunity.

That may be slightly difficult to realize at this time. Kamiya, of course, is no longer with Capcom and is currently leading development of Platinum Games’ new Wii U title, Project P-100, as the game’s director. However, Capcom has been very open to working with outside studios as of late, so maybe another Kamiya-made Viewtiful Joe entry could happen one day.

IGN has confirmed that EA will have Wii U news to present at its Summer Showcase tomorrow.

Executive editor Rich George tweeted that there will be “some” updates for Nintendo’s new console during the event.

George wrote:

“Want to know more about EA’s Wii U plans? We’ll be live streaming their Summer Showcase presentation tomorrow. August 2 1-2pm PT. Be there. …(EA Summer Showcase is not just limited to Wii U, but there will be some related news in there.)”

Chances are we’ll be getting a look at FIFA 13 on Wii U. EA may also show Mass Effect 3 running on the system.

Famitsu has the latest update on Monster Hunter 4 this week, but it isn’t too significant. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto says the project is now 60% complete. The title is still a long way off from releasing in Japan, so the team has plenty of time to complete the remaining 40%.

Other than this, Tsujimoto noted that he’d like to look into taking the Monster Hunter franchise into areas outside of games. While it was originally an online title, Monster Hunter has become increasingly story-oriented, starting with Tri.

Tsujimoto also said that he enjoys hearing stories of those who became friends through Monster Hunter as he likes to see players making memories through games.

Columns will be hitting the Japanese eShop as a Game Gear download on August 8 for 300 yen. As a small bonus of sorts, SEGA is including local multiplayer functionality. You can play together with a friend as long as you’ve both downloaded the title.

Screenshots of Columns can be found above.

EA producer Matt Prior says that the Wii U is “on par with the 360 and PS3”. When FIFA 13 comes to Wii U, however, it’ll feature “some key graphical improvements”.

Prior said:

“It’s on a par with 360 and PS3 and we were even able to make some key graphical improvements. We focused on areas that would have the most impact on the game.”
