E3 is a place well-known for surprises and brand new game announcements. Capcom, however, will not be bringing anything “shocking” to the trade show. That may disappoint some fans, though the company is expected to share more on previously revealed games. Capcom’s Christian Svensson provided the following comments on the latest “Ask Capcom” segment:
“We’d like to probably keep our E3 plans a bit closer to the vest. I don’t know that we’ll be shocking anyone with what we talking about at E3. Most of our major announcements were made at Captivate. There’ll be some light shed on things that were previously announced that we didn’t show much of at Captivate, updates for some things that we did show at Captivate, but keep your expectations in check and everyone will probably come out happy.”

Today, Nintendo officially opened the Japanese Kid Icarus: Uprising website. You’ll find a bunch of old movies, as well as information regarding a promotion for the game.
Nintendo is looking for Miis so that a float can be built, which will eventually appear on a float in Goshogawara’s Tachineputa festival this August. The float will contain the Miis, along with Pit and Palutena. Participants need to save their Mii portrait to an SD card in the Mii Studio application, and then send the photo in via a form.

Thanks to Thomas N for the tip!
Wii Point Cards/Nintendo Points are being removed from the Wii Shop Channel. Instead, Nintendo is replacing the references with the “Nintendo eShop Card”. Not too big of a deal, but it’s a sign that Nintendo is moving forward…
The 3DS eShop was going to launch with a renowned character in Mega Man, but, unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Capcom has announced that Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version will not make the launch of the shop early next month. The development team will use the extra time to enhance the quality of the game. A new release date has not been provided.
This information comes from Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata…
“We have included a very short Revelations demo [in The Mercenaries 3D] so you can get the feel of it. The playable character will be Jill Valentine and the game takes place inside a cruise ship liner so she goes into the boat which is like a very eerie type of Resident Evil universe. There isn’t much of a storyline – it’s a very short demo – but you will get a feeling of what Resident Evil Revelations will be like.”
“The script has been fixed and we are full-on developing the game. Revelations will be shown at the Nintendo booth at E3. You’ll have to wait until E3 to find out more but everything is new from the script to the gameplay system and how we’ve developed the game.”
I might be wrong on this, but I have a feeling that the demo will be the one shown from Nintendo World 2011 in Japan. In any case, it’s a nice, little goodie to include in The Mercenaries 3D.
SEGA’s latest earnings report caught quite a bit of attention for one reason in particular. Sonic Generations, which has only been announced for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, was strangely listed for the 3DS and PC as well. However, the report has since been modified so that only the confirmed platforms appear.
Is SEGA trying to hide something, or was the listing a simple mistake? Nintendo Power’s May 2011 issue could support the idea that the title will be released for Nintendo’s portable, as the magazine teased coverage of Sonic’s 25th anniversary.
