At E3, Tecmo Koei announced Samurai Warriors 3D for Nintendo’s upcoming handheld. Like Dead or Alive: Dimensions, though, the company has given the hack-and-slash title a new name: Samurai Warriors Chronicle. That’s the only piece of new information we have about the project, but it’s possible we’ll receive new details soon – perhaps as soon as next Wednesday.

Cambridge, Mass. – Sept. 17, 2010 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that the epic Bob Marley and The Wailers album, Legend, will be added next week to the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and WiiTM.

This information comes from Epic Mickey producer Raul Ramirez…

“I think it does a really good job, it does stand up to those. There are some levels that require a little bit more skill. Having to use Mickey Mouse’s spin move while using double jump to get to the harder to reach areas, as well as simply providing platforms to transverse up and down in-between the worlds. The classic cartoons are what we’re trying to reference and the classic platformers as well. Its just providing a different kind of play-style for the player that enjoys that kind of thing. We’re not trying to be like this or be like that. We are our own.”

Epic Mickey features a number of different gameplay elements, so it’d seem like a tough task to nail everything down. With that said, I do believe Warren Spector and his team will manage to make this title something special. It remains to be seen if Epic Mickey platforming segments will be comparable to Mario, but we’ll just have to wait and see when the game comes out in November.
