In spite of the sales of some of the more core, mature titles on Wii such as MadWorld, EA is still a believer in that type of market. Glen Schofield, VP and general manager of Visceral Games, admits that Dead Space: Extraction “is an experiment” for the company, but that they are “confident” that the game will perform well.

“I’m confident – it is an experiment, but there’s going to be 50 million Wiis out there by the time the game comes out, so if you only hit 2 per cent of the installed base you’ve got a huge number. I don’t know – there have been some already, Resident Evil and House of the Dead, that have done really well, so we’re pushing for that 80-plus-rated game, and that’ll put you in the top 5 per cent of all Wii games… because most do not have a great score…”

In the past, High Voltage has stated that The Conduit will have a “world-class marketing campaign.” It looks as though SEGA plans on heavily supporting the game. According to High Voltage’s Josh Olson, there are “bigger and better things in store for TV” and that “you may want to hold onto your socks.”

“We have bigger and better things in store for TV so you may want to hold onto your socks. Maybe even sit down. The PR train is just getting rolling; we have big plans and will be advertising the game pretty heavily.”
