Nintendo has confirmed that players will be able to turn off the voices for the Talking Flowers in Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

This is a new mechanic for the game, although it’s a bit of a small one. Nintendo previously said that the flowers are in to make the adventure a bit more lively – plus they may give you hints or even coins. However, not everyone will be interested in hearing them talk, and it’s a never a bad thing to have options.

When it comes to the big Nintendo franchises like Mario, many fans tend to be curious as to how much Shigeru Miyamoto is involved. Miyamoto is one of the most important people at the company as the creator of various characters and franchises. Even if he’s not quite as hands-on as he used to be, he still contributes to some projects.

As for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, producer Takashi Tezuka said Miyamoto would “give some opinions” and “make comments here and there”. Tezuka said in an interview with IGN:

Original (4/19): Escape Academy launched last year, but a new Switch version known as The Complete Edition has just been announced. The game is hitting the system this fall.

Escape Academy is a puzzle experience with “over a dozen masterfully hand crafted rooms, designed by experienced experts in the field”. The Switch version will contain the base game, Escape from Anti-Escape Island DLC, and the upcoming Escape from the Past DLC.

Game development often includes deadlines, but at least early on, that’s something the Super Mario Bros. Wonder development team didn’t need to worry about. In an interview with Wired, producer Takashi Tezuka revealed that the game wasn’t given a due date while prototyping was going on.

Tezuka said: “I wanted to prevent people from saying, ‘We won’t make that deadline, so that’s why we didn’t do it – we can’t do it.'”
