Pre-loading functionality has been out on Wii U for quite awhile now, but we’ve yet to see the feature be fully utilized on 3DS. In Japan, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is the first 3DS game to take advantage of pre-loading. But what about the west?
Nintendo’s website indicates that Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition will in fact allow for pre-loading. Consumers can purchase a code, and we assume it can then be used to grab most of the game’s data before launch.
3DS owners in Europe can head to a local Nintendo Zone to obtain a new theme in honor of International StreetPass Week. Sadly, I don’t believe it’s being offered in North America!
Update (4/16): Pre-orders open on Best Buy and GameStop.
Amazon opened Mario Maker pre-orders for a very brief period during E3 week last year. After just a couple of days, the retailer’s listing was pulled.
Amazon’s Mario Maker listing is finally back up and running – likely because Nintendo announced a September launch month last week. If you’d like to reserve it, you can do so here.
Donkey Kong 64 has launched on the North American Wii U eShop today. We’ll throw one last reminder your way with 20 more minutes of footage!
Yanim Studio originally hoped to have Red Godess: Inner World finished and launched in Q1 2015. However, the project was pushed back in February to a general April release date. Unfortunately, Red Goddess has been delayed once again.
If all goes well, Red Goddess’ first version will release in June. Other releases are coming in December 2015, with the final editions – including Wii U – set for Q1 2016.
In a Kickstarter backer update, Yanim Studio said:
We’re tuning and polishing Red Goddess to make it more fun. This means that we’re paying attention to detail, getting everything perfect, there are still a few more finishing touches required before launch. However, we regret to inform you that Red Goddess will be delayed. Red Goddess for PlayStation 4 in late June 2015, while Windows, Mac and Linux PC and the console versions for the Xbox One will arrive in December 2015. The Wii U and Vita consoles will arrive on 1Q 2016
Q1 2016 is certainly a long ways off. Hopefully it will be worth the wait!
Update: 3DS owners in Europe have access to Satoru Shibata.

Assuming your 3DS is connected to the Internet, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime should be arriving in the StreetPass Mii Plaza – Bowser hat and all! Just make sure you have SpotPass enabled and he’ll be showing up shortly.
