Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising Game Trial

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising has been announced as the next Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial in Europe.

This comes at a perfect time as Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is due out this month. During the trial period, members can access Rising entirely for free. Save data can be used in the full version as well. Also note that the game is currently on sale for everyone.

Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes preview

It always seems to happen the same way: just when I think I’m ready to take a break from playing big, sprawling JRPGs that threatens to suck up every ounce of my free time, along comes a game like Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes that immediately makes me reconsider. After spending the past few years deep in development following an immensely successful Kickstarter campaign in 2020, the turn-based RPG will finally land on Switch next spring and will hopefully help scratch the Suikoden itch that Konami has ignored for over a decade. I was fortunate to have a chance to demo the game in Los Angeles recently, and while I only got to experience a small sliver of the opening chunk of the game, I really enjoyed what bits of the story, combat, and exploration I played.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising physical

Red Art Games revealed today that it will be selling a physical version of Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising on Switch.

Every copy comes with a set of three Eiyuden Chronicles trading cards. A soundtrack CD will also be available as a pre-order bonus. To obtain the CD, customers will have to purchase the game before its official release on January 26, 2023.

CJ is on a coming-of-age quest handed down to her from her family’s storied history as treasure hunters. Seeking out fabled riches in the recently booming adventurer destination, New Neveah, she finds out that the town is in a bit of a pinch. Using her talent for fighting and exploring, CJ begins to chase not only treasure, but the sense of community in helping the town rebuild after a recent quake. Mending the town’s ties between the villagers and the newly-arrived adventurers, a story unfolds that introduces us to the Eiyuden Chronicle universe, which is set to feature a turn-based RPG, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes from a legendary development team featuring Yoshitaka Murayama (Suikoden I, II) and Junko Kawano (Suikoden I, IV,) of Rabbit & Bear Studios. While this is not the main feature, they do have a lot of fans picking up this smaller companion game. So how does Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising reveal to us this new frontier of adventure?
