Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Last Spark Hunter release date

Ubisoft has been giving us small updates on the DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, but we now have a concrete release date for The Last Spark Hunter. The latest content will be available today.

Learn more about it in the following overview:

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has spoken on the performance of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and believes the company should have hold off on releasing the game until Switch’s successor launched.

Speaking with GamesIndustry, Guillemot mentioned how Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was already available on Switch, and the sequel resulted in “two similar experiences on one machine.” He further mentioned “Nintendo [has advised] that it’s better to do one iteration on each machine.”

Mario Rabbids Sparks Hope Last Spark Hunter details

New details about the next wave of DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, The Last Spark Hunter, have been revealed. This comes courtesy of a notice via the official Switch news channel.

We previously heard that the DLC would feature the Melodic Gardens, but the news post shares much more. Kanya, the Last Spark Hunter, is the main threat here and comes with the Mecha King Bob-Omb weapon. Golems and Fieldbreakers will also be some of the enemies players will take on.

Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope Rayman teaser

During its Ubisoft Forward presentation today, a new look was provided at the upcoming Rayman DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

We previously heard about this DLC last year. We still don’t have a ton of details, but we now have an actual look at how Rayman looks in the game with a new trailer.

Here’s the video:

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope demo

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has been out for a few months now, but a demo has just been made available. It can be accessed right now on the eShop.

Ubisoft says the demo is comprised with “the prologue and much of the first planet of the game, Beacon Beach”. If you have interest in seeing what the game has to offer, there’s no harm in giving it a download as it’s free.

A new trailer has come online for the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Tower of Doooom DLC, which is the first piece of the game’s season pass. A teaser was previously shown, but we now have a proper look.

As a reminder, the DLC involves Madame Bwahstrella asking Mario, Rabbid Peach, and their friends to clean her multi-dimensional tower and save their old friend Spawny. Included is a new combat game mode in which players take on highly strategic battles as they make their way to the top of the Tower.

The ceremony for the 26th Annual DICE Awards has just concluded, with Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope emerging as the winner for the “Family Game of the Year” category. While Nintendo games are no strangers to winning awards for “Best Family Game” at a given show, it’s still a big honor for a game and its developers to be recognized in this way.

Nintendo may not have made a huge splash at this year’s DICE Awards, but you can still check out the winners of all of the other categories below:

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Tower of Doooom DLC

Ubisoft has provided a final release date for the first wave of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC, which is titled Tower of Doooom. It will be available on March 2, 2023.

Tower of Doooom was initially given an early 2023 release date. In the DLC, Madame Bwahstrella needs Mario, Rabbid Peach, and their friends to clean her multi-dimensional tower and save their old friend Spawny. A new combat game mode will be added that has players going up against highly strategic battles as they make their way to the top of the Tower.

Here’s a first look at the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Tower of Doooom DLC:

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope grid

According to Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope producer Xavier Manzanares, the game originally had the grid that was featured in the series’ first entry. For the sequel, Ubisoft went with a more open approach. Rather than limiting players to a grid, players were given more control.

Manzanares told EDGE in a previous issue that the grid system was in place back in 2018. However, the team ended up changing things the following year.

He said:

Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope sales underperformed

Ubisoft hasn’t given a clear indication as to how much Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has sold, but it seems that the game hasn’t lived up to the company’s expectations. As part of a January financial update today, co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot mentioned how “surprised” they were by its “underperformance in the final weeks of 2022 and early January.” Just Dance 2023 Edition was another game Ubisoft called out as an underperformer.

Ubisoft appears to be facing some tough times on the whole for the time being. Guillemot stated in the same report: “We are clearly disappointed by our recent performance. We are facing contrasted market dynamics as the industry continues to shift towards mega-brands and everlasting live games, in the context of worsening economic conditions affecting consumer spending.”
