Soraya Saga, the wife of Monolith Soft founder Tetsuya Takahashi, has retweeted the news about next week’s Nintendo Switch Presentation and related events. It could be a sign that the rumored Xenoblade Chronicles X Switch port or new project could be shown at the event.
Saga’s done this a few times in the past. After she retweeted Nintendo Direct news in both 2013 and 2014, Xenoblade Chronicles X was featured in both broadcasts. Here’s hoping that this latest retweet will result in something tangible as well.

A new teaser website and Twitter account are now open for Monolith Soft’s Kyoto studio. The page has the following tagline: “Become a creator of captivating dreams in Kyoto”. In early July, the full site will open.
It should be noted that Monolith Soft Kyoto is the development studio that often helps Nintendo develop games. They are separate from the Tokyo team, which creates original titles like Xenoblade Chronicles X. The Kyoto group is currently working on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Update (6/24): Nintendo reached out to Game Informer to clarify their story. It’s not 100 employees from Monolith Soft working on the game – just confirmed to be 100 from Nintendo in general.
Original (6/17): We already knew that Xenoblade Chronicles developer Monolith Soft was involved with Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but now we have further confirmation of that. Shigeru Miyamoto told Game Informer that more than 100 staffers from the company are working on the project.
He said:
“Yes they are involved in this Zelda. People from Tokyo and Kyoto are working together on this. There is a team of over 100 [from Monolith] helping work on this project, and their work has really been helpful.”

Update 2: While the re-download button doesn’t display in the individual listing, you can currently grab the software again by visiting your list of “Redownloadable Software” on 3DS eShop (thanks Kaleo).
Update: The game is also unavailable in Europe (thanks lightdasher and Grimahim.
The first Project X Zone has disappeared from the North American 3DS eShop. On top of that, if you’ve downloaded it previously, a message stating “This software is currently unavailable” is displayed where the re-download button would be.
We’re not quite sure why Bandai Namco decided to remove Project X Zone from the eShop. Anyone in Europe know if this is the same situation there as well?
Thanks to Brian for the tip.

A look at some Xenoblade Chronicles X concept art

Towards the very end of last year, a special Xenoblade Chronicles X art book came out in Japan. This features over 300 pages of goodness showing characters, enemies, Dolls, and much more.
One section of the book is particularly interesting. This is the “Unidentified Material” portion that mainly highlights concepts with art that didn’t make it into the final game. Below, you can find some of these images along with translations for the different pages.

Protagonist (name undecided)
A rough sketch of a young man in his late twenties is found! He ended up as “protagonist” since the name was undecided, but the personality feels different from the avatar of Xenoblade Chronicles X. So that means this character is…!?

Father
Just introduced as “Father”, this rough sketch of a mysterious character has rough facial hair. The title probably doesn’t mean age[*], so is he someone’s father?
[* The used Japanese word may mean a father or an old man in general]Reina Sakuraba
This is a rough sketch of a beautiful character who has an aura of a heroine. One can imagine that she is related to Sakuraba Industries because of her surname…
