NIS America is holding its annual press event next month. Numerous announcements are always made here. In 2015 for instance, the publisher revealed the localization of Rodea: The Sky Soldier for Wii U and 3DS.
There wasn’t much news at last year’s event, but that could be changing this time around. An invitation notice from NISA suggests that 3DS will be included in the lineup of announcements.
The 2017 NIS America press event will take place on February 17. If any Nintendo-related announcements are made, we’ll be sure to let you know.

NIS America no longer publishing Atlus games in Europe as relationship terminates
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 12 Comments
MCV has received word from NIS America that the company will no longer be handling the release of Atlus’ titles across Europe. Additionally, going forward, Atlus won’t be distributing any NIS games in America.
NIS America MD Takuro Yamashita said in a statement:
“Around ten days ago, we terminated our alliance with Atlus in Europe and the US. Atlus became very picky about selecting the European publishing partner after it was bought by Sega. It always cherry picked its EU publishing partner based on who offered the highest minimum guarantee on a title by title basis. I noticed that it was very difficult for NIS America to establish an equal-partnership with Atlus. Atlus and its European games have contributed a lot to the expansion of NIS America in Europe. I would like to express my greatest appreciation to them for that.”
NIS America has handled several of Atlus’ titles in Europe. The lineup includes the Etrian Odyssey 3DS titles, Persona Q, nad more.

Rodea: The Sky Soldier’s Wii version comes in the same case as the Wii U game

Some folks have been asking about how NIS America handled the Wii version of Rodea: The Sky Soldier in terms of packaging. As many of you know, that version of the game came with all pre-orders (plus first-print copies).
Rodea: The Sky Soldier’s Wii edition doesn’t have its own box. Instead, NIS America included it in the same Wii U case. A separate case would have been nice, but at least we did end up getting the Wii version in the end!
