NIS America

Those who purchase the Wii U version of Rodea: The Sky Solider will be treated to a special bonus. NIS America is including a copy of the original Wii title, which was how creator Yuji Naka envisioned the game.

In Japan, the Wii version had its own separate disc. We weren’t sure if this would be the case in the west as well, but NIS America has since confirmed this to be the case.

The publisher wrote on Twitter today:

It’ll be interesting to see what NIS America does with the Wii boxart. Will they use the Japanese version (see above), or something new?

NIS America intends to release a limited edition for Rodea: The Sky Soldier.

Fans can purchase the special version for either Wii U or 3DS. You’ll receive a copy of the game, a hardcover art book, 10-song original soundtrack with jewel case, collector’s box, and “Key of Time” Pendant with chain bonus item.

Pricing for the Wii U version is set at $74.99. The 3DS version costs $54.99.

Did you know that the Wii version of Rodea: The Sky Soldier is the only one with multiplayer? The Wii U and 3DS editions do not. In the Wii game, four players are able to race to the end of five levels.

When it comes down to it, there are two versions of Rodea: The Sky Soldier. There’s the game for Wii, which was Yuji Naka’s original vision. Kadokawa Games also prepared releases for Wii U and 3DS. Rodea: The Sky Soldier has received an overseas release date. Today, NIS America announced that the title is slated for September 22 in North America, and September 25 in Europe.

All first print copies of Rodea: The Sky Soldier for Wii U will come with the Wii version. That’s the original game created by Yuji Naka.

Rodea: The Sky Soldier has finally launched in Japan. For those who are curious, the downloadable version for Wii U is about 2,715MB. We’re not too sure how large the 3DS edition is, but it’s probably a tiny bit smaller.
