With Astral Chain launching on Switch later this week, the floodgates have opened for Astral Chain reviews. We’ve rounded up some of the early verdicts below.

As part of the ongoing series of devblogs being put out by Platinumgames in the lead up to the release of Astral Chain, the blog has taken a new look at the team’s development of the overall user interface of the game.

This time around, we get to hear from UI artist Kenta Okura and other UI artist Ryoko Konami. Those interested can read the notes below, and visit the blog to view animations of the development.

The site has updated with lots of information, including an introduction, details about the characters, Legions, and more. Fans can also watch a few videos, check out screenshots, and even download a few different wallpapers.

PlatinumGames has posted yet another dev blog for the Switch action title Astral Chain. This time around, we get to hear from art director Hajime Kimura.

Aside from discussing the making of the Legions, we get a look at some other aspects like Captain Maximilian Howard. There’s also some additional talk about the game’s origins.

Nintendo and PlatinumGames are gearing up for this month’s launch of Astral Chain. As part of that, director Takahisa Taura has started sharing insights on the creation of the action game.

Today’s note is particularly noteworthy. Taura said that he great up playing Pokemon and is fond of the series, so he thinks “the idea of calling on another character to fight alongside” could have been influenced by the hugely popular monster-catching series.
