Pokémon GO adds Remote Raid Pass and other options for players to play at home

Niantic have announced that they are implementing more features to allow Pokémon GO players to play from home during the COVID-19 pandemic including a new ‘Remote Raid Pass’ item which allows players to find nearby raids without having to physically travel to their location.
The item will be available in the in-game store and will act similarly to the Raid Pass available in the game currently, allow a limited number of players to participate in raids. In the future, players will unfortunately see a decrease in their attack power when using the item however.

Niantic have announced that Pokémon GO will be receiving a leaderboard for its Battle League PvP mode tomorrow, along with an event centred around Marill titled ‘GO Battle Day: Marill’ taking place on Sunday, April 12th 2020.

Pokemon GO reveals Spring 2020 event

Niantic has announced a new Spring 2020 event for Pokemon GO.
It’ll include Buneary with a flower crown, and you’ll be able to more frequently encounter egg- and spring-themed Pokemon. Pokemon Eggs can hatch Pichu and Togepi with flower crowns. Additionally, Field Research tasks are planned that include encounters with Alolan Exeggutor, Azumarill, and Audino.
There will be a couple of bonuses as well. These include 2x Hatch Candy and Lucky Eggs lasting for one hour.

Pokemon GO making more changes in light of coronavirus, will let you take on Raid Battles at home

Pokemon GO has been implementing changes over the past couple of weeks so that players can more easily experience the mobile game at home. Developer Niantic is continuing its efforts, and today outlined more plans that will be implemented “in the coming days and weeks”.
One of the major changes on the way involves Raid Battles. In the future, you’ll be able to participate straight from home. Niantic also says that Pokemon GO Fest will be reworked for in-house play, Adventure Sync will be improved “so it works even better with indoor movement and activities,” and you’ll be able to virtually visit your favorite real-world places.

Many people are electing to stay home more now than they ever have before due to the coronavirus pandemic. Pokemon GO, a game known for its popularity based on real world activity and socializing, hasn’t actually been affected despite that.
According to Sensor Tower, Pokemon GO generated $23 million in player spending during the week of March 16. It’s a 66.7 percent increase week-over-week. Players in the United States account for 34 percent of the total. During the week, they spent $7.8 million on the mobile title.
Pokemon GO has implemented many changes as of late knowing that its users have been staying indoors. The approach has thus far proven successful.

Pokemon GO’s reputation was originally built upon the idea of going outside, moving about, and interacting with others. Unfortunately, the coronavirus is making these types of interactions almost impossible. In response to the pandemic, Niantic is implementing temporary changes in mechanics.
A representative told Polygon that Niantic is “prioritizing updates to Pokémon GO features and experiences that can be enjoyed in individual settings.” Habitats will be increased, allowing players to see more monsters nearby while playing closer to home.

Niantic has announced that the latest Pokemon GO Community Day featuring Abra has been postponed. Though not stated explicitly, it’s clear that the move was made due to the coronavirus.

Genesect joining Pokemon GO through Special Research event, early access with paid ticket

Niantic has announced that the Paleozoic Pokemon Genesect is on the way to Pokemon GO. The creature will be appearing as part of a Special Research event starting March 20.
Players will be able to purchase a ticket for $7.99, which provides access to the event, the ability to encounter Genesect, and more. Those who prefer to keep their experience free will be able to find Genesect in EX Raids beginning in April.
