Pokemon Sun

A few new images of CoroCoro have surfaced, showing the two forms (Day and Night) of Lugarugan. Thanks to Serebii’s translations, the pages also show at least some of the differences between the two forms, with the Day form learning a move (potentially called Accel Rock) and the Night form learning Counter. You can check out both pictures below:

This month’s issue of CoroCoro has started to leak, bringing the latest Pokemon Sun/Moon news with it.

First, we have news about evolutions for Rockruff. The Pokemon becomes Lugarugan and has a different appearance based on it evolves during the day or night. Rockruff’s day form occurs when bathed in the rays of the sun. When full of the night’s power, it becomes the night form.

We also have a look at two Ultra Beasts called UB02, UB02 Beauty and UB02 Expansion. UB02 Expansion is shown appearing in Pokemon Sun, facing off against Tapu Koko and UB02 Beauty up against Tapu Koko in Pokemon Moon. While UB01’s name is a mystery, it may have a deep meaning.

In non-gaming news, CoroCoro also provides a first look at the Pokemon Sun/Moon anime, which will be airing in November. Ash will receive a Z-Ring and meet the Melemele Island Guardian, Tapu Koko. During the show, Ash is going to school and his goal is to graduate “like never before”.

For its next issue, CoroCoro teases that the magazine will show the true strengths of Type: Null.

If you thought the deluge of Pokemon Sun & Moon info was going to stop anytime soon after the several new trailers we got this week, you’re sorely mistaken. The official Japanese website revealed that the next wave of new information will be released on Wednesday, September 14th, at 10 PM JST / 3 PM CEST / 9 AM EDT / 6 AM PDT. This new info will likely come in the form of a new trailer.

That’s not all, though – the next issue of CoroCoro magazine is set to be released next week as well. The magazine has previously teased that it would reveal Rockruff’s evolution, among other things, in this issue. Historically, we should get leaked scans of the issue a couple of days ahead of its official release, possibly as early as this weekend. We will keep you updated.

We’ve been wondering who that Professor Oak-looking character is from the new Pokemon Sun/Moon trailer. As some had suspected, it’s not Oak himself. Instead, it’s a relative.

4Gamer confirms that the character is Nariya Oak, Professor Oak’s cousin. Aside from that we don’t know much. 4Gamer says that Nariya studies the region and Alola Forms… and that’s pretty much it!

The big question stemming from the just-released Pokemon Sun/Moon trailer concerns the character above. Who is he? If anything, he seems to be a part of the Oak family, as the name shown is the same as Professor Oak’s Japanese name.

It surely can’t be Professor Oak, right? Perhaps some sort of relative?

The Pokemon Company has just published another new trailer for Pokemon Sun/Moon. It’s almost entirely gameplay, but there are a few seconds of CG mixed in as well. Watch the trailer below.

As part of the latest Pokemon Sun/Moon website update, new comments were shared from director Shigeru Ohmori. He spoke about why he settled on the titles (“Sun” and “Moon”), the time difference between the two versions, and expressing night and evening.

Head past the break for all of Ohmori’s comments.

When Nintendo shared its PAX West lineup a couple of weeks ago, it said fans who pre-ordered Pokemon Sun/Moon at the expo would receive “a collectable gift.” Now we know what that is. At its booth, Nintendo was giving out an exclusive poster.

Here’s a better look at the gift from Nintendo’s Twitter page:

Update: Added English version below.

The second live-action Pokemon Sun/Moon was published on the Japanese Pokemon YouTube page today. It has some brief snippets of footage, including what seems to be a first look at Cutiefly’s evolution.

We’ve attached the screenshot of the Pokemon above. For the full video, watch it below.

One of the new elements in Pokemon Sun/Moon revealed today is the Poke Finder. The feature is built into the Rotom Dex, making it possible to take pictures of Pokemon at certain photo spots scattered throughout Alola. Pictures are evaluated, and you’ll unlock new functionality such as the ability to zoom in as you improve.

We’ve included some Poke Finder screenshots below.
