Japanese fans line up for Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire pre-orders

Pre-orders for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire recently opened in Japan. Believe it or not, fans have been showing up in drones to get their reservations in. Director Junichi Masuda and gamers across different cities have been tweeting photos showing the pre-order mania.

A look at the Toys “R” Us pre-order bonus for Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire

A few weeks ago, we posted about a special Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire pre-order offer from Toys “R” Us. Further details have since come to light.

It turns out that consumers who reserve both games can actually choose between two Charizard plushies: Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y. The Mega Charizard X plush measures 10.5 inches in height whereas the Mega Charizard Y stands at 8 inches. Each one is valued at $22.99 as previously mentioned.

Update: Best Buy has now opened pre-orders for the Smash Bros. systems: blue and red.

GameStop has now started to take pre-orders for the new 3DS XL systems revealed today. These include the Smash Bros. Editions, NES Edition, and Persona Q Edition.

Get your Japanese New 3DS pre-orders in now

Update: Bumped to the top. Systems are back in stock… for now.

It’s looking like the New 3DS won’t be heading west for awhile. While the system is heading to Japan on October 11 – less than two months – North America and Europe won’t be seeing it until 2015.

Thankfully, there are ways to purchase the New 3DS even if you’re not in Japan. Playasia has now opened pre-orders at the following links:

New 3DS White

Of course, since these are Japanese systems, they will only play Japanese games. But if you’re like me, you might be pretty tempted to pick up a New 3DS at launch…
